Thank you so much!
I've been watching cherryheart for a while now, on her last podcast she mentioned your y t channel and I thought I'd have a look. OMGosh I'm loving all the lovely things you sew and knit, I watched the yarn dying one and I now want to dye my own wool, I want to buy fabric to make myself craft bags and dresses. I love your taste in yarn colour. 🤣 so much inspiration here. You have a very calm, gentle manner which is very calming. X

Hello, I love your tutorial. I am not a Knitter but watching you has motivated me to learn. Your instructions are so clear and helpful. I was wondering at the end when the yarn is in the warm water, after setting the dye in the microwave, how long do you leave it in the water for if it doest bleed dye? Do you leave the yarn to dry naturally or do you put it in the microwave again? Thank you very much! Natalia

Hi Natalia Yay! So glad you’ve enjoyed my video. If it doesn’t bleed then I just rinse it out fairly quick, I like squeeze the water out and dip it back in, repeat a few times to be totally sure and then dry it out.
I have never seen dyeing done in cold water. I use hot water on the cooker always and do not have to set after. I will try your method and see if I get the same color. Thanks

Did you give it a try? If you like bright/dark colours, cold water dye baths are less effective but if you like pastels like me then it saves a bit of work 🥰
Is the kit still available?
the yarn that you dyed..around 34 min, was it dampened before?

Hi Helen, yes, it’s always soaked before, otherwise the colour doesn’t adhere or goes patchy. Hope that helps
Do u use your microwave and the plates for food as well?

Hi! The plates are just for yarn dyeing, anything that touches the yarn dye shouldn’t be used for food. I clean the microwave after use and air it out but still use it for food at the yarn dye doesn’t actually touch it. I haven’t found any information about negative effects of using the microwave for both. Hope that helps!
Is the kits still available???

Hi Samantha! Yes, I can put together a kit for you x
I am a dyer myself and I just wanted to come here to say please don't use anything that you used to dye to cook with ever again. Items that you dye with should never come into contact with food.

Hi Michelle Thanks for reinforcing that. I thought I made that clear in the video? I make it very clear in my yarn dyeing kits, which this video is intended to accompany.
You mention using your kitchen items to dye the yarn. Any items used from the kitchen should ONLY be used for dyeing. DO NOT use them for food afterwards as the chemicals will be poisonous

Hi Cath Yes, that’s right. I thought I made that clear in the video but I’m sorry if not! Thanks for reinforcing it. 👍
