We're digging the heck out of this guitar. Love the touch, the feel, and it's not even the fabric of our lives (children of the 80's will get that). Complete with a power up button, what's keeping you from adding to your Reverend collection?
The Greg Koch Gristlemaster is a unique guitar that really stands out among the Reverend line.
Built a little larger than a classic T-style body, with an added raised center ridge, Reverend has placed a chamber under the pickguard to add a ton of sustain and resonance to the guitar. Pin-locking tuners on a bolt-on roasted maple neck offers string-changing ease with extra stability and durability, perfect for the touring musician.
Reverend's signature headstock shape with a triple-tree string retainer and jumbo frets on a compound radius neck, help make a smooth transition to play up high or fretting down low with a slide.
Equipped with Fishman Greg Koch Signature Gristle-Tone pickups, this guitar is hum-free, and the rechargeable active pickups with two distinct voicings are super convenient to use. The Wilkinson Classic 3-Saddle bridge with staggered brass saddles and steel baseplate also keeps the tone vintage-inspired.

One small correction at 5:25, on a compound radius, there is LESS radius as you travel up the neck towards the body. The 14” radius at the heel is actually flatter than 10” at the nut. Info for the newer players that think a larger radius means more curvature. You may have meant that, but just clarifying so that anyone listening who doesn’t understand how a neck’s radius is determined isn’t confused. Nice playing 👍

Great review, thanks. I have a Reverend Eastsider T, their T-Style. Seriously considering those pups. Your review has probably pushed the button (see what I did there?). Blucifer is the name locals gave to the blue mustang, with hot red eyes, that rears in majesty in front of the Denver International Airport. Greg Koch spends a lot of time in Louisville, just north of Denver. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. ;)

The vintage style bridges should be standard in all new teles.. it’s a way better sound. It’s night and day. I was shocked when I put a Wilkinson bridge in and the sustain increased, tuning, and overall spank you want from a tele. A lot of times mods can be subtle but not this one

Received one from zzounds in pow red. Neck was unplayable. Sharp fret edges. Edge of the neck was sharp and felt rough. Not rounded off at all. The pickups are ok but you can tell that they are active and trying to imitate true single coil. Did not bother to try another one as Reverend sends a card with signatures saying they inspected all of this before it leaves their workshop. Overall was highly dissatisfied with the guitar at this price point.

Funny enough I saw a demo video of an orange amp the other day where a guy was using a fender tele but he had replaced the pickups with the Greg Koch signature pups from fishman (what’s in this guitar too) so I guess everyone’s ears and tastes are different. I hope you can get something that works better for you!
