It shows that this is Jonathan Hickman's most ambitious comic for Marvel and Valerio Schiti's drawing is really the best thing he has done and he has done incredible things, with that you can see that they really are an incredible and unstoppable duo in comics in general.

I think so yes, but its not really a 'character', is it? Its a conceptual deity that can only be used in stories like this that examine that stuff

Hickman tends to pick up and run with concepts and themes across everything he writes, but so far the first issue seems pretty standalone.

You don't have to, you can read it without complicating things because it's something that's new to Marvel, so you don't need to read other comics or anything to see it

I like Jonathan Hickman's stuff well enough (he created an amazing launching point for the X titles with House & Powers of X), but something about this feels like a new attempt at creating the Eternals, and I just can't shake that for some reason. I'm certainly interested to see where this may go, and I could be sold on this series/these characters/this story/etc. but I'm not yet, especially not after the frankly lackluster cameos meant to hype up GODS in other comics.

well now i see why Captain Kate went back to ShadowKat because that Character in red could easily be mistaken for Kate.

Ah, I see... they're going Manga style storytelling...without the art.

Wyn looks like Eros in the Judgement Day arc to me.

I hope they let Hickman complete his run, and not have another writing team come in and do something completely different halfway through... again.
