Back before we got the 2012 ‘Avengers’ I used to watch the ‘Ultimate Avengers’ movies & ‘Heroes of Tomorrow’ after binging phase 1 & that was my head canon.

@@immanuel7925 that movie was my first exposure to Hawkeye. So that's what I usually compare other takes to. Even though he wasn't on screen you learn a lot about him. Like that he's capable enough to survive the Ultron Apocalypse while still caring for other survivors. Loved that one line about what Francis' father would have done if Tony had asked him the same question.

Next Avengers! Broooo that movie was sick

Watching this movie as a kid changed me. It was more serious and "adult" than other Marvel media of the time I consumed, and it definitely ended more tragically than the first movie. In hindsight, it may not be the best movie ever, but I still remember it fondly.

This movie made Cap and T’Challa some of my favorite heroes fr. Such an underrated duo. Seeing them go from defeating Kleiser together to both running head on into Thanos forces in IW was 🔥

Their friendship and respect for one another is one of my favorite relationships in comics. Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes has a great depiction of the two of them as well.

Lionsgate Animated Marvel is SO UNDERRATED...like, yeah as you said, they are not peak cinema or anything, but they introduced me to the World of Marvel and made me and a lot of us fall in love with the characters that today dominate the Big Screen. (Planet Hulk is a Freaking Masterpiece tho)

Ultimate Avengers introduced me to Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Ant-Man, and Wasp and the sequel introduced me to Black Panther.

I absolutely loved the Lionsgate Marvel universe when I was a kid, and still do to this day. I really do appreciate the more mature stories they had compared to the lighthearted fluff the MCU is nowadays.

Yeah, same. One of the reasons I wasn't excited about Disney buying FOX and getting the X-men. The FOX X-men movies seemed much more mature than the MCU movies. Now I'm worried about what they'll do to my favorite Xmen characters.

I wish there was an Ultimate Avengers 3. It would have really brought a satisfying conclusion to this franchise.

I miss when Marvel made these kinds of movies and TV shows. They created unique world's with interesting takes on the characters. They didn't need to reference or promote the MCU.

If X-Men '97 ended up becoming a success, then we can get a few more of that exact thing in the future, very soon. That means Earth's Mightiest Heroes '13 and Wolverine and the X-Men '09 can be a real thing.

@@maxleon61702 I think even Xmen 97 is just to promote the xmen being in the MCU now. They even had Professor X cameo in Dr. Strange 2. Even the Spiderman freshman year is connected to the MCU as an alternate universe. Honestly, don't trust them to do a good job with any animated show nowadays.

Heard they’re Re-structuring the comics for the MCU

I miss these Marvel animated movies like Ultimate Avengers and Hulk vs. If they kept doing these, they could’ve rival the DC Animated Universe. Hopefully they will make these type of animation soon.

Next Avengers was also pretty good. Hyped up Ultron’s threat level so much for me that Age of Ultron was really disappointing by comparison

Fantastic video! I remember the whole storyline with T’Challa and his father’s death was pretty traumatising for whatever reason. I still remember to this day how brutal T’Chaka’s death felt at the time I watched it - I was very young

@@Browntable I never saw Doctor Strange. I only have Ultimate Avengers 1 & 2, invincible Iron man, and Next Avengers. I can't remember I'd Planet Hulk and Hulk vs are Lionsgate's but I like them too.

I always wanted a sequel to these movies, and I know it would involve yellow jacket and ultron

I got so much nostalgia watching this. It was awesome watching the marvel animated films as a kid. I used to go crazy when my dad would bring home an ultimate avngers movie 😂

I wish they could've added this cast of Next Avengers to the MC2, and had them interacting with Spider-girl the daughter of Spider-man.

Ultimate Avengers 2 gets a bigger win cuz the stakes are much higher and Black Panther is an actual beast here unlike the movies

The unintended similarities are the best part

To be fair, the Ultimates (Avengers) are an extremely violent story in the comics Specifically in the Ultimatum storyline where the Wasp is EATEN by the Blob

I remember asking my brother after watching the two ultimate avengers movies that if they would ever be able to make a live action and my brother said it would be tough but it's possible..... Welp saw infinity war and endgame level stuff in my time.... Hell yeah 🔥

Finally someone talks about this, I still have the DVDs of the 3 movies you on about! They were a big part of my early childhood with thunderbirds and power rangers.

God, dude. I used to binge Spider-Man (2002), Hulk vs., Next Avengers, and the Ultimate avengers movies with the Yost-verse cartoons and was just INJECTING marvel into my veins. It was great time to be a marvel fan, even if I was practically a baby at that point. Great review, cheers.

I'm so happy when I was a kid and into comics that I grew up in that pocket where before any new project wasn't MCU-ifed while I was able to enjoy and love projects like UA 1&2 and Next Avengers while also seeing the MCU come out and into the mainstream

Ultimate Avengers 1 and 2 were on a DVD set that was constantly played on the tv as a kid my Brothers and I loved the dualogy growing up

I remember watching this movies back to back with the mcu Avengers and saying this movie is similar but damn i grew up with so it's a W also happy new year to everyone

I wish that DC and marvel will would draw on animation for their live action movies. Some of the animated movies are phenomenal.

I believe second movie to be better and more nuanced than the first, but I was always happy to catch them both on Netflix when they were on it when I was younger. And even before I watched the video the comparison to Infinity War was very true.

But the MCU was based off of the Ultimate comics so that is likely part of the reason why aspects of the movie are so similar to the MCU.

I remember that the DVD of Ultimate Avengers 2 had a trailer for Marvel's Ultimate Alliance, and it was great.

Ultimate Avengers 1 and this were the only 2000s animated marvel movies I didn’t watch. Yet somehow I have seen those flashback scenes with the Nazi Alien and Black Panther but never the rest, just the Nazi alien stuff. Glad to finally know where it was from

It’s interesting how similar the formula is for Ultimate Avengers and Justice League War, at least for the first two movies. You got the team coming together in the first movie to battle an alien threat that returns in later installments, and then you expand on the worldbuilding in the second by including a character that’s a classic member of the team but has enough of his own story and setting to have a stand-alone feature (Black Panther for Avengers and Aquaman for Justice League). Hey, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, that’s all I gotta say.

I'm really surprised that they didn't do much with the children of the heroes. The animation was pretty good for a Marvel anime,but the kids could've been a whole different line of books. Plus with the multiverse a big part of Marvel. You wouldn't have to worry about inconsistencies. Like with most future sons and daughters of a current line of characters would.
