I’ll always respect Stan Lee for creating a hero for me in 1966....and naming that hero the Black Panther! Stan was courageous, and didn’t care what white America thought. He gave black children a hero in a very turbulent time in our country. Seeing that character on the cover of a comic book was mind blowing, and seeing him fight the Fantastic Four to a stand still !...well I stopped reading D.C. Thank you Stan. And many thanks to Jack (King) Kirby for his mind blowing cosmic universes, energy blasting, and gamma ray filled comic panels.

Funny thing is that the comic actually predates the orginization. Marvel was going to change his name to the black leopard but they stuck with black panther.

This is a good post, and Jack Kirby the pencil artist and character designer was right there with Stan. The whole look of Wakanda and the futuristic technology of Wakanda, that is all from Kirby.

You would think after all the money it made in the box office. That game developer would of jump on the idea by now.

Respect this Black Panther cartoon for how faithful of an adaption it was on the Black Panther from the comics. Honesty this show along with other tv series was a massive part of my childhood and it's what made me love the MCU's rendition of Black Panther even more as this show helped me to understand the story arc behind Black Panther hence thorough it I understood the MCU Black Panther better. The intro to the show is rad as hell. This episode was one of my favourites not only for the Captain America fight, Stan Lee's cameo and Black Panther's kickass introduction but also for the opening segment which I think was one of the best out of any cartoon tv series especially towards the end where you hear this meancing voice say "Tell your tribe.Tell everyone." to the last survivor of his tribe. Still gives me the shivers. All in all this was a brilliant show with incredible acting, story, characters and animation.

I am getting a vibe that this is not a very child friendly series.

was freaking cool in Civil War. but in his own movie he didn't emote as much, action choreography wasn't nearly as good, wasn't as gritty, wasn't as independent as his suit and all his tech came from his sister and he wouldn't have won the day if it weren't for his general, sister and his mum and his ex girlfriend saving his life.

Marvel Knights is an adult themed and generally, more mature series of stories.

What I love about this story is that it shows how brutal and powerful Storm can really be, In the final 1-2 episodes she has quite the cool moments.

Imagine being the first dude in history to get nabbed by a boobie-trap, not only would it hurt like hell but you would be terrified and confused as you were dying because you would have no idea what is going on and everyone around you would be reacting in the same way

The voice actor for Captain America is David Hayter. He’s played the Captain before in the 90’s Spider-Man cartoon iirc, so he’s no stranger to the character. However, when this was made, David already had a rep of playing Solid Snake, a character iconic for his gruff voice. That’s why Captain “sounds like The Wolverine”.

They certainly ruled over Spain for hundreds of years. “The moors were black” no, we do not use modern terms to describe historical people, yes the moors were likely black or Arab, but we still do not refer to historical people as white or black as that is a very modern way of describing people. Anyway they did not rule over all of Europe, they were not the first royal families, neither King James or William Shakespeare were black men and again they are not to be described in modern racial terms. You are correct that the moors did greatly help Europe after the collapse of the Roman Empire.

David Wolfe thank you so much. I was about to say the same thing. Caps my favorite superhero. And he’s hella powerful. The serium gives him enhanced strength speed and durability. As well a more tactical mind. He can analyze situations very quickly. He’s worthy of Thor’s hammer. Also he has insane will power. More will Power than green lantern. And he is an insane fighter. Honestly Djimon Hounsou is a good option for a Wakandan character, he could even fill the role of T'challa with a good wig haha. He has the acting chops, and he's also trained martial arts for a few roles. Having some more African actors playing African characters would be great for exposure for the country (rather than the bit parts they often get). I'm sure Chadwick would also want the character to live on after his death. T'challa is the character, not the actor at the end of the day, and is a very important character in terms of both African and African-American comic book culture.

I remember I use to watch this as a kid, good old days

I personally enjoyed this more than any other graphic novel available on KZread. The characters were excellent the art style seemed gritty yet realistic .I love the emotional content it led to the story. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sadly this ended over a decade ago. I think after disney bought Marvel, they stopped making these adult marvel animations. Same with the Thor show too.

Wakanda is not real. The Vietnamese are. They managed to expel every foreign invader who’ve tried to conquer them.

@@Thunda1986 that's obviously the case and dialogue would agree. "You can go home now" he tells cap in the hole. Also he said captain will represent in the us what the panther does in wakanda. So they knew he was coming.

Marvel Knights was the equivalent of “Adult Swim,” showing more mature versions of many Marvel Comic characters like Hulk, Wolverine, Fantastic 4, etc

When I was younger one of my favorite hero’s was Black Panther so I got the dvd version of this and I watched the opening scene and I got terrified and never watched it again.

Edna Mode sees Black Panther having a cape says, "NO CAPES!" In the movie: n o c a p e

That opening still fire! Come on Marvel! Bring it back! Be triumphant!

Caps voice sounds kinda offish... that's literally the only negative thing I have to say. Awesome stuff here.

This was hands down the best Black Panther series ever with it's initial story arch. Hudlin was the best BP writer.
