Obviously they used stunt doubles. That does not take away from the fact that he still had to physically get into shape in order to film some of the lesser intense scenes. The amount of weight he gained for the role alone seems like it would be a major accomplishment for someone going through chemo.

JaTu Although some were scenes were stunt doubles he was still playing T’Challa in many films and did some stunts. Acting while having cancer isn’t easy so this would make you the “idot”.

Connie 1751 Chadwick did most fight scenes where he isn’t wearing the suit. Most notable is him vs M’Baku in BP. In the behind the scenes you can see him out there pulling off those fight moves himself.

This comment went out to some guy by the name of Ja Tu (he removed his comment) that was implying that Chadwick didn’t do his own fight scenes and that stuntmen were used. He also implied that we were idiots (which he spelt wrong, see the comment from Golden Golem) for believing that Chadwick was doing his own action scenes.

I know you said _extra_ VFX, but I just thought I'd point out that his whole suit was a CG replacement. They had a pretty detailed suit on set for filming, but then totally replaced it in post.

@@paul-nj1ig I really don't get it either. A surprising amount of objects in marvel films are CGI replacements. There's a lot of times where it just seems like VFX for VFX sake. So many of the actors wear suits, and then they are replaced in post with a nearly identical suit with fewer wrinkles, or maybe more or less shine in certain areas. It's kind of egregious.

Yea hopefully Brave New World will give us some scenes like this

2:23 jumping out a sliding car and using the momentum to start sprinting immediately was so awesome and easy to miss with everything else going on.

The fact that Chadwick Bozeman performed this role after being diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer is truly outstanding. We never knew he will leave us 4 years later. RIP The True King.

This was such a great action scene. I love the “grounded” MCU that isn’t just a giant CGI-fest. I mean, there is tons of CGI here, but the actions of the heroes are on a scale I can comprehend and it is “real” enough to make me appreciate the super-human aspects of what they’re doing.

Fun fact: the part where they outrun the cars was a practical effect. They attached long carpet-like things to the end of cars and the stunt doubles were running on those carpets while the cars were pulling them. Just imagine tripping there

This is where we got introduced to the Black Panther. I remember my younger brother curiously asking me "who is that guy in a blacksuit?" And I said "embrace yourself, you are about to witness history" a year or two later Black Panther movie was released and he(my younger bro) came to me and said "I'm glad I was born in this timeline bro". I don't know if anybody as commented on this before but I love the fact that the police treated T'Challa, Steve and Bucky so differently; the police officers do not even touch T'Challa, Steve is "respectfully" (not violently) handcuffed while standing and Bucky is thrown to the ground to be handcuffed.

I wish black panther had more fight scenes like this that were in Civil War. These fight scenes are impeccable. It shows the true strength and speed of black panther. In his own movie they were good but not that great the way how these were

T'Challa Black Panther was never this cool again. Brutal, unstoppable, proud. Kitty lost his claws after this.

The fact that all 3 of them are running faster than cars during the chase just shows how incredibly agile and powerful they are... Just WOW!!!

I love Black Panther's arc in the MCU, starting off as this animalistic driven by rage son to then realising to find justice another way and the becoming a much more peaceful wise king in hi solo films, RIP Chadwick Boseman.

Man Winter Soldier is honestly terrifying. He works like an unstoppable machine. Well he did until later films where they bought a whole bunch of unnecessary characters who overshadowed him.

Winter Soldier is weaker compared to Black Panther and Spider-Man.

The fact that Black Panther had to deal with all of that and still caught up with and subdued Bucky is incredible.

I noticed we can't hear Black panther while running or when he lands, means this suit also had sneaking features. SNEAKERS!

@@sid310794 caps shield was made for absorbing impacts but not stealthily while black panthers suit was made for stealth missions and absorbing impact which is why his suit doesn't make noises while running and landing

I'm not into superhero movies at all, but I think the Black Panther costume looks the coolest.

Watching this again reminding me of how good black Panther is. Chad did such a great job

I always loved the little bits of running speed differences showed with the characters. Cap, Bucky and T'Challa along with Spider-Man and Thor in rush scenes always moving faster than everyone else. Its little touches and details like that that really makes the scenes all the more amazing a believable that these are superhumans we're watching.

You know, I noticed this especially in Infinity War at the battle of Wakanda. But in Endgame, in the last battle when they charge Thanos, both Cap and Black Panther are running in line with the rest and not way in the front. It was either a symbol of unity, or it was because it was easier to get the shot on camera when they're all in one frame.

I love the Black Panther movie, but this version of Black Panther in Civil War is how he really is in the comics. Unapologetic, very rare smiles, serious AF and an intimidating aura and look. *NO ONE* fvcks with the BP.

He litearlly didn't appear in any of these scenes besides taking off the helmet. Please stop spreading fake news and taking the job of someone else just to boost Chadwick's performance. He acted REALLY well, but he was NOT involved with any of the stunts whatsoever

@Oddwolf 799 Spiderman's was more fun, this was more badass. I would rate BP's as more impactful on the movie. Spidey was more of a fun "Yes, he's officially in the MCU" moment but he's not crucial to the story. BPS whole purpose was avenging his father's death and finding who officially did it.
