Really interesting because this has always been in my mind as well. I am not convinced James Small is able to get more out of this group than Cole Pearn. The teams would do well to hunt talent in Canada - the racing at Delaware Speedway in years gone past was excellent. There were some great drivers there and of course crew chiefs. Cole used to drive there and I remember that then.

I feel for James in many ways with inheriting a team and driver that were already at the top and having to try to keep the ship on course. Before the Next Gen hit the track they did pretty well. 4 wins in 2021 was great. Of course they had Cole's notes at the time too. I still hope this year that they are able to finish a couple races out with a win. They have been strong, just all the little things that keep them out of victory lane. Cole was no doubt a great crew chief and I also would like to see more guys like him rise to these levels. I have hopes that with Chase coming in that it's a fresh start for both he and James and they make the team their own and successful. Appreciate the comment!

@@thatracingshow I do as well - wish them the very best. James is an Aussie and we Canadians have a soft spot for our friends down under.

@@happyjohn8256 I have a lot of viewers from Australia and New Zealand, and they are passionate about their racing! I enjoy talking it with them. As far as Canadians, I'm from Watertown NY just a stone's throw from Canada. Spent my summers at our camp on Lake Ontario and was on the other side of the water all the time. Great people and some great dirt drivers from the area. I spent my weekends at various tracks and there was always a dirt modified in our garage. My dad used to sneak me into the pits under a bunch of coats on the floor of the hauler as a kid lol.

@@thatracingshow That is awesome. Life is so fast now i never go to the races anymore. Im just too tired. Like you I used to race - but we were at the paved Delaware Speedway and we raced an old Dodge Caravelle in the enduros where it slowly morphed into a chevy as we found dodges are dead slow. Camaro axle, quadrajet with 4bbl on the 318 etc.. We never won - but we had a lot of fun for four summers.

James Small aside, the 19 team has had more than its fair share of blown opportunities over the past several years. Im high on briscoe, not so high on that team as a whole

Certainly have. You can go back to the 2019 Championship race for one. Truex winning stage one, dominating stage 2 and then tires on the wrong side during a pit stop. From a dominating lead to a lap down, never leading again. He was on his way to that second title. In my opinion MTJ should be retiring with over 40 wins but that's racing!

With Lizzy Musi passing away from breast cancer, how will Jeffery Earnhardt do at the next race? They had been dating since last year.

I have actually been debating on doing a short piece around this this weekend. Jeffrey is a super individual, and I was crushed for him and all the family when I heard the news yesterday morning. At the moment I don't think he has any racing scheduled until Daytona on August 24th. I'm sure even then it will be tough as Lizzy has been with him at the track most of the time since they began their relationship.
