I've seen carragher get turned inside out and lose his head with chrismd lol. He was the best of a bad bunch at the time, average player. During his first team playing career of about 15 years he probably starts for arsenal in around 2-4 of them if he's lucky, and none of those were during the periods keown mentions, (mid to late 90s-mid 00s)

@@tombarnes8843 peak carragher was 2005-2012 won the european cup, fa cup and league cup in those years. so 90's he's a kid and early 00's he's finding his feet and playing at full back. what we're arsenal doing those years. they won the FA cup in 05. so in the times when Carra was at his best he was winning trophies and arsenal were not

Nev and Carra are spot on about Arsenal - a team that hasn't learned any lessons from last season. Showing no composure when they win games or score goals. They act like the league has been won every week. That takes a toll as the season goes on, and then you've got nothing left in the tank when the final 10 games arrive. It's exactly what happened last season, and it's why they'll burn up even sooner this season

But he didn't state he wouldn't have started ahead of him specifically, he was referring to the squad depth at Arsenal at the time, and he definitely wouldn't have been a starter at Arsenal back then.

Keown might have a bias for Arsenal and even wanted anyone who threatened his position on the field to fail.. He wouldn't broadcast this but he also wouldn't have faked comradery had a camera been in his face as his rival made a goal saving Clearance. He's right that carragher is naughty questioning Ramsdales integrity and he's right to suggest that an habit shouldn't be made of parents sticking up for their adult children who are capable of achieving success and big enough to fight their own cause. However he won't condemn it in this instance because it's totally understandable when the integrity of the boy you raised well enough to be where is is today is questioned by a total stranger on national television... Who would've thought in this day and age, a father actually caring about and defending his son. Crazy.

Players always read their own press. No doubt in my mind that Arsenal expects to compete with City, but when they stumbled against Spurs, now they're feeling the weight of their own expectations. Still a young bunch (second youngest in the PL, no?). They are literally growing up on the fly, learning how to be professionals for a big side with big expectations on it.

The world has gone mad, Maguire's mum, Ramsdale's dad acting like parents who's kids are at the elementary school, I would be embarrassed at 12 years of age if my parents came out publicly to defend me, let alone as adult but luckily I had proper parents it wouldn't even cross their minds to embarrass me like that.
