Makes a change for a band to be interested and interesting when interviewed. Well done to Marseille and yourself, James. They’re cool lads and I like their style and their sound. Hopefully they go on to big things.

I saw Marseille supporting the bluetones at the kanteena and I’ve seen loads of support acts and these were the best I’ve ever seen.

They do have some good tunes but thing is we've heard it all before. If you're gonna be the next big thing you have to offer something new, unique, and exciting on top of what's already there, especially if you're gonna be so derivative of a band like the stone roses, for example. I mean even some of their ep artwork is just a rip off of the stone roses. just my opinion

Like you just said, we've heard it all before, therefore all we can do as musicians is make music that's true to us, it's always gonna sound like someone else, fact. The Beatles are often heralded as the most influential band of all time, yet they were influenced by plenty, i.e. the likes of Buddy Holly, Little Richard and Elvis. You can be as unique a band as anyone, but you have to be inspired by someone to be doing what you're doing! 😂.

Love the lads tbh At first I thought fuck stone roses wannabe then I realized that’s what the world and the music industry needs. Were trying to do the same, we love the beatles and Oasis and there’s nothing wrong with it, if u wanna sound like a band that showed up 40 years ago go ed lad, what would u prefer? the same shite band that sounds like one direction with distortion? Long live Marseille 👊

Just listened to 'She can fly' and 'monkey in the middle'. Two cracking tunes which lead me to giving some good and bad news to the band. The good is I think as long as they get enough publicity they're going to develop a big following. The bad is most of the following is going to be a bunch of 40+ year olds! They really could have been plucked straight form the 90's and I for one am all for it!

Yes, Marseille were quite a well known band, I saw them support Dire Straits circa 79/80. Lead by Neil Buchanon the Art Attack TV show chap. They actually reformed around ten years ago with my mate Nige on vocals and did release a comeback album. Surely someone has pointed this out to them!

Seem like really nice lads but in all honesty, their tunes are pleasant but dull and just don't have the 'x factor' or quality of the bands they're very clearly hero-worshipping. Further still there's none of the ATTITUDE needed to give Rock n Roll a much needed kick up the fuckin' arse. If we want R'nR to dominate again, we need people equal to - or FURTHER - your Oasis', Roses, Nirvanas etc. Otherwise it's just pastiche.
