Great video again James. Never ever even considered the Blur reference whatsoever. I also just donated £5 towards the mastering of the new EP which I will most certainly be buying! Thank you for the amazing channel content and your efforts in bringing back the charts. We will all get there together!

I can’t wait to hear it! Can I ask what are your plans touring wise? I know you are debuting in Manchester but I’m from Newcastle (as you can probably tell) I know I’m not too far from your way in Richmond but I’m wondering are you planning to do any tours up in Newcastle or Sunderland? Or is that sort of thing too far ahead?

@@abelstretford3097 Well the main thing right now we're building up to is our gig with the Oasis Podcast down in Manchester on Dec 11. But, as of next year, I'm going to be working on sorting out some gigs up and down the country, and Newcastle will definitely be on the hitlist! So, hopefully see you there!

The demo version is a deep song. Meanwhile, the studio version brings a smile to my face whenever it comes on
The connection with blur also thickens , when at the end you can here Liam singing in a posher accent like blur had .
Bonehead’s Bank Holiday is such a brilliant song. One of my Oasis favourites believe it or not…
i feel like boneheads bankholiday is the digsys dinner of morning glory

I don't know why but Boneheads Bank Holiday is my favourite song with Noel on Vocals. To see an in depth look at the song has made for a great video in my eyes. Nice one James.
Golden as ever. Thank you for keeping the dream alive!
That Mojo was a classic for me as a kid. Literally about 5 songs off that Mod Club CD are in my ultimate playlist still. Thanks for summoning up those memories!
Another great video thanks James.
What a great channel this is, so much trivia on here
Great work James there’s so much on oasis on here your so consistent and find the secret things that make oasis great
Excellent! I'd never paid too much attention to this song so had never got close to thinking of it in terms of blur. I'd love it if it was. Also, great work at the end with the sunday sport headline. I'd forgotten how entertaining that 'newspaper' could be!
your videos are so underrated, amazing stuff :)
Hahaha, I've never thought of that Blur connection before! That hilarious, great work!😂
That was awesome ! Thankyou. BTW Love the shades.
Absolutely great video!
One of your best videos! BBH always brings out the kid in me.
Just absolutely amazing !!!! Now !!! Waiting for Swamp song analysis
Thanks James Great video, brilliant version of BH BH. Every Oasis vid you do is just a pleasure to watch and so educational. Please keep them coming.

This is mega James, love it!!!

Cheers Smitcher! Yeah the original vinyl mix was absolute chaos, the 3CD version was alot clearer, but I kind of wish they had just bookended the track with all the Bonehead and Liam stuff rather than having it running relentlessly from start to finish hahahahahaha It's a goofy but fun little tune
Great video James you smash it ❤️
Great video. Thanks
Put the song as a standalone video! Just brilliant!
Class! It had never occurred to me about the potential Blur piss take but after listening to it there I'm convinced you're right! It has the same groove to it as Country House but suppose that would be coincidental as CH wouldn't have been released at that time.

Cheers! Re the Blur thing, I didn't even realise it until after I uploaded the video but they also reference 'my big house with my big car' which could also have been connected to Country House! And the guitar solo in the Blur song 'Bank Holiday' sounds a little bit like the silly outro guitar solo in BBH (although Noel has Oasis-ified it a bit). I think they might have been aware of the song, because Blur were gigging it, and at the time they were also aware of the upcoming singles schedule, because Blur kept moving their release date to the same date as Roll With It

Oasis and Blur might have known about own songs before The Battle of Britpop. Blur joked about 'morning glory' in Country House where Oasis joked about 'big house' in BBH.
Ah I've not heard BBH in years :) lost my tape of the vinyl I had as kid way back in the day (probably got chewed to bits in a shit argos Goodmans "walkman" PMSL). its class hearing a decent rendition... was singing along from memory even after 20 odd years :)
Really enjoyed that thanks James

You're remake is insane 🔥by the way your voice really sounds like liam's one
There are 3 versions of the song, the original 1995 version has the Noel vocal with the Bonehead attempt mixed quietly underneath it. The vinyl reissue a few years later (2009?) has the Bonehead vocal mixed out and so Noel sounds more clear. Also the middle bit from the demo "shut your moaning..." is taken from an unreleased Noel song called Is That A Fact as revealed by the handwritten lyrics circulating online.

brilliant video
Fantastic video. I really appreciate your work documenting the history of Oasis. It’s like a window into the past. I always thought it was more inline with Digsys Dinner or Married With Children with that kind of indie guitar stomp. It reminds me of the Longpigs. The melody is great and there’s always space for nonsense lyrics. Calling it a blur song isn’t a bad thing either. Blur have some of the best songs ever written.
OMG James 🤭 you nailed it
Woohoo 🍻 finally 🍺 waiting for part 2
This is brilliant content, really enjoy your videos. Maybe theres a bit of a swipe at girls and boys in the lyrics too?
I love this song, I always thought it's perfect to sing while drunk. The blur theory caught my attention jajaja.
Nice cover

Actually bonehead's bank holiday sounds like charmless man 😂 Especially the la la la and the guitars 😂
At a charity store I volunteer at, we have a CD copy of Definitely Maybe that I like to play, and everytime I play it, it upsets me that Sad Song isn't on the CD version. :(
I always liked Bonehead. I hope he gets better soon.

I really wish they had released separate disc of outtakes with the Morning Glory deluxe edition.
Her name was “Avaline”. “Have a line”…. I like the pun on “they say in the sun it’s fun, if you get some”.
Fucking class James thanks you
Are the electric guitar parts the same chords as acoustic just very trebly & gainy?
the electric guitar is definitely graham coxon style….good shout
I always been an advocate that “In my big house And my big car And all my friends there at the bar” Was a straight Blur diss for being posh (big house) and not knowing what it like to be real Brits (going to a US style bar as opposed to a pub). So in this context the “shut up moaning because you’re wasting my time” could be a direct message to Damon about not singing about real issues. Check out the video “Noel Gallagher Speaks” which is quite old and it is quite apparent Noel did hate Blur and especially Damon quite a bit and he himself states all the things I speculate this song was really about. Alan McGee also commented that he believed “Digsy’s Dinner” and “She’s Electric” to also be subtle Blur disses - Noel’s way of saying “I can write songs like that too, but better”. Noel certainly had a way of channeling his emotions (even hate in this case) into great songs which is why I think he was at his best when he was grinding - once he become complacent with success he seemed to be a bit more uninspired. Great vid and cover btw James!

“[Damon’s] such a pretentious cock. If he cares so much about American culture creeping into this country, then he should get a proper job. […] What does he know about this country? He’s a student, he studied music, he’s from Colchester. He knows fuck all. I’m not saying I’m better than him, but I worked on building sites, so therefore my soul is purer than his.” - Noel when asked about Damon & Parklife (c.2002-2004) Seems like quite the chip.
Great video! What is the lead playing? Standard open chords or up the neck?
@JamesHargreavesGuitar

VERSE LEAD CHORDS: The G is an A barred on 10, the Em is an Am barred on 7, the A is an A barred on 12, and the C9 is an open chord of C9, but played 12 frets up LA LA LA LA SECTION: All barre chords, but he changes them each time, sometimes using mostly A types, sometimes using all E types REST OF THE SONG: Regular open chords
Love your work, James. In terms of hidden content on that album, by any chance (apologies if you covered this elsewhere, I haven't seen an answer) do you know what song/singer we hear at the end of the Morning Glory track for 1-2 seconds while we hear a radio tuning. Sounds like a female vocal of "this is the rythm of..." I've never seen an answer. I recall in Q Magazine many years ago, someone submitted this very question. And they printed a response, saying it was "The Swamp Song" which was obviously a very frustrating answer!

yeah but James we know that Sad Song has a Liam version - thoughts?
The lyrics could well reference the song girls and boys as well as country house. So there might be something in that blur mickey taking!
one of my favourite oasis songs just because of how bisarre it is
Also another version of this song IV herd with slight different lyrics
Never knew how good boneheads bank holiday was as the title put me off a bit at the time 1 year before standing on the shoulders i had it on a bootleg
You know what I also find very interesting; how Guigsy apparently wrote some of his own songs (none used in Oasis) according to Chris Hutton. Also, holy crap, I really hope Bonehead releases those outtakes.
🤣 brilliant ✌

ya defo it seems a blur song, it sounds like that
Her name was ‘ave a line….
For certain they are Beatles fans but one glaring intricacy is Oasis do not seem to have grasped Revolvèr. I was also into Revolver at that time and noticed that every song had a beginning a middle and an end. Oasis didnt really achieve the slight tiny little intros and outroes the Beatles had on that album.
Being cornish, the accents at the end severely offend me 😂
That electric guitar chop is very Coxon like.
I’ve spent the last 30 years thinking “Digsy’s Dinner” was called “Digsy’s Diner” bc that’s what the US cd said; that was down to you, soTa. “Bonehead’s B.H.” is definitely a swipe at Blah. Never liked those Mockney wankers.
