Another reason it isn't common is because women have very good reasons to be dissatisfied with such an arrangement, and men have reached the very correct conclusion that it would be immoral to try and persuade a woman to put up with such an arrangement for religious reasons.

@@mmmcounts in my country my uncles have 2 - 3 wives, so basically it is that there is so much women but they are unmarried because the men are already married so the women that are left are sad and there is not much men left, so islam kinda put justice to it. My uncles married 1 or 2 more because of this and the women are widows just like our prophet pbhu married women that were widows, that can’t support themself.

@H - A In my country Pride month is being celebrated in a major way. The vast majority of the gay, lesbian, bi, and trans people are not married and let's say, for the sake of example, that partnering with someone outside of the hetero norm makes them happy in some ways some of the time. The point is, do you see how cultural norms have no bearing on the morality of a practice? Is that obvious to you? Okay, let's take the thought experiment one step further. Suppose Islam, via the Quran and the Sunnah, made some type of allowance for gay partnerships such that Islam "brings justice" to it. Would that make it acceptable to you? I'm trying to find out the extent to which you can reason things out for yourself, and how much you'll go along with whatever you're led into no matter what it is.

​@mmmcounts it's not up to us what is acceptable to us. This is how you ended up with so many genders in the first place. It's creator who knows what is best for his creatures. Creator sends messengers with guidelines for us to follow. Let me explain it this way. When you buy brand new Toyota, it comes with a handbook from the manufacturer. And if you want to take care of your car well you follow that guidelines. You are free not to follow it, but if you follow it and follow it better, longer your car last. Manufacturer knows what is best and how to maintain it both short and long term. Same applies where creator knows what is best for us. Islam forbids everything is harmful for humans such as smoking, drugs, alcohol, gamling, lottery, adultry, stealing, etc. Eat healthy, Be nice, etc. Few examples. Islam is not just a religon but a way of life. Those type of example you brought up(rainbow people) , in small scale they don't do much harm, but if you don't prevent them, in a mass scale they will destroy the entire nation. Another reason it's forbidden. Have a nice day.

Buddha was a man of peace. He spent his ilfe in the service of man kind. His message has spread to many countries by peaceful means. Zoroaster was a oeaceful man who gave a wonderful message to his followers. This followers the Parsees are excellent people who do good for everyone. Maravir Digamber Jain was a peaceful person. His followers do not harm anyone. Guru Nanak Dev ji was a very peaceful and pious person. He spread the message of service towards all. Muhammad was a slave trader and carsasn looter. People rebolted against his religion and he and his followers forcibly converted.many people to his religion. Mire tgan 99% of all muslims are descendants of people whomwere converted after military conquest of thrir countries by muslim armies. Also Muhammad promised 4 to his followers on earth and 72 hoors in jannat. Is this something to be proud of.

At the battle of Sargarhi 21 Sikh soldiers fought against an Afghan muslim army of ten thousand soldiers to block their advance. They fought for more than twn hours and killed over 600 Afghan soldiers before they were all killed. Our Makaraja Ranjeet Singh conquered the entire Pakistan and parts of Afghanistan including Kabul and Iran. He died due to illness otherwise he was planning to conquer all of Iran and Afghanistan. It will be better if you yry to reform your Islam so thatbit is changed from a wild tribal religion to a modern civilized religion. If you cannot do that please adopt some civilized relion lije Christianity , Buddhism or Sikhism. That will bring peace and tranquility to your life.

The problem with marrying more than one wife even if you have lot of money is that both your wives will taunt you and your first wife will not be able to accept your second wife because polygyny become very rare.

@@educationworld9699 if a brother is picking wives that are taunting him, I would say the brother chose the wrong women to marry... and although permission is not necessarily required by the first wife, for a capable man who had the resources before any marriage, it would be best to discuss this with the fiance prior to marriage, even put it in a legal contract that if he decides to, he will and if she chooses to divorce because of it, will only receive a certain amount, possibly even him receiving full custody of kids (since that would be Islamically correct), and the divorced wife, if desired could remarry without worrying about how the new partner would be with her children

Polygamy has been practice long time ago and almost all religions support it. According to Bible, Solomon has hundreds of wives. But in Islam that has stated in Quran (Surah An-nisa), if you can't do justice between them, marry only one. Polygamy is not an easy thing. In order for men to do polygamy, they need to fulfill many conditions and be fair.

According to that verse that you have choose, muslims are not obligated to have multiple wives. Marry only one if you can't do justice between them. (وَإِنۡ خِفۡتُمۡ أَلَّا تُقۡسِطُوا۟ فِی ٱلۡیَتَـٰمَىٰ فَٱنكِحُوا۟ مَا طَابَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلنِّسَاۤءِ مَثۡنَىٰ وَثُلَـٰثَ وَرُبَـٰعَۖ فَإِنۡ خِفۡتُمۡ أَلَّا تَعۡدِلُوا۟ فَوَ ٰ⁠حِدَةً أَوۡ مَا مَلَكَتۡ أَیۡمَـٰنُكُمۡۚ ذَ ٰ⁠لِكَ أَدۡنَىٰۤ أَلَّا تَعُولُوا۟) [Surat An-Nisa' 3] 4:3 *And if you fear that you will not deal justly with the orphan girls, then marry those that please you of [other] women, two or three or four. But if you fear that you will not be just, then [marry only] one or those your right hand possesses. That is more suitable that you may not incline [to injustice].* (وَلَن تَسۡتَطِیعُوۤا۟ أَن تَعۡدِلُوا۟ بَیۡنَ ٱلنِّسَاۤءِ وَلَوۡ حَرَصۡتُمۡۖ فَلَا تَمِیلُوا۟ كُلَّ ٱلۡمَیۡلِ فَتَذَرُوهَا كَٱلۡمُعَلَّقَةِۚ وَإِن تُصۡلِحُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورࣰا رَّحِیمࣰا) [Surat An-Nisa' 129] 4:129 *And you will never be able to be equal [in feeling] between wives, even if you should strive [to do so]. So do not incline completely [toward one] and leave another hanging. And if you amend [your affairs] and fear Allah - then indeed, Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful.*

And if you fear that you may not be just to the orphans, then you may marry whom you please of the women, two, three, or four. But if you fear being unfair, then only one, or what your right hand possesses, for that will make it less likely that you act unfairly. 4:3
