Let's check it out and see what 'truth' is all about actually. Here (see below): @ FACT: SEE WHAT INTELLIGENT NON-MUSLIM SCHOLARS AND INTELLECTS SAY ABOUT PROPHET MUHAMMAD (PBUH) "Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of God and the Last of the Prophets." (The Noble Qur'an, 33:40) @ MAHATMA GANDHI, YOUNG INDIA, 1924 "...I became more than ever convinced that it was not the sword that won a place for Islam in those days in the scheme of life. It was the rigid simplicity, the utter self-effacement of the prophet, the scrupulous regard for his pledges, his intense devotion to his friends and followers, his intrepidity, his fearlessness, his absolute trust in God and his own mission. These, and not the sword carried everything before them and surmounted every trouble." YOUNG INDIA, 1924 @ LAMARTINE - Histoire de la Turquie, Paris 1854, Vol II, pp. 276-77: "If greatness of purpose, smallness of means, and astounding results are the three criteria of human genius, who could dare to compare any great man in modern history with Muhammad? The most famous men created arms, laws and empires only. They founded, if anything at all, no more than material powers which often crumbled away before their eyes. This man moved not only armies, legislations, empires, peoples and dynasties, but millions of men in one-third of the then inhabited world; and more than that, he moved the altars, the gods, the religions, the ideas, the beliefs and souls... the forbearance in victory, his ambition, which was entirely devoted to one idea and in no manner striving for an empire; his endless prayers, his mystic conversations with God, his death and his triumph after death; all these attest not to an imposture but to a firm conviction which gave him the power to restore a dogma. This dogma was twofold, the unit of God and the immateriality of God; the former telling what God is, the latter telling what God is not; the one overthrowing false gods with the sword, the other starting an idea with words. "Philosopher, orator, apostle, legislator, warrior, conqueror of ideas, restorer of rational dogmas, of a cult without images; the founder of twenty terrestrial empires and of one spiritual empire, that is Muhammad. As regards all standards by which human greatness may be measured, we may well ask, is there any man greater than he?" @ EDWARD GIBBON and SIMON OCKLAY - History of the Saracen Empire, London, 1870, p. 54: "It is not the propagation but the permanency of his religion that deserves our wonder, the same pure and perfect impression which he engraved at Mecca and Medina is preserved, after the revolutions of twelve centuries by the Indian, the African and the Turkish proselytes of the Koran...The Mahometans have uniformly withstood the temptation of reducing the object of their faith and devotion to a level with the senses and imagination of man. 'I believe in One God and Mahomet the Apostle of God', is the simple and invariable profession of Islam. The intellectual image of the Deity has never been degraded by any visible idol; the honors of the prophet have never transgressed the measure of human virtue, and his living precepts have restrained the gratitude of his disciples within the bounds of reason and religion." @ REV. BOSWORTH SMITH, Mohammed and Mohammadanism, London 1874, p. 92: "He was Caesar and Pope in one; but he was Pope without Pope's pretensions, Caesar without the legions of Caesar: without a standing army, without a bodyguard, without a palace, without a fixed revenue; if ever any man had the right to say that he ruled by the right divine, it was Mohammed, for he had all the power without its instruments and without its supports." @ ANNIE BESANT, The Life and Teachings of Muhammad, Madras 1932, p. 4: "It is impossible for anyone who studies the life and character of the great Prophet of Arabia, who knows how he taught and how he lived, to feel anything but reverence for that mighty Prophet, one of the great messengers of the Supreme. And although in what I put to you I shall say many things which may be familiar to many, yet I myself feel whenever I re-read them, a new way of admiration, a new sense of reverence for that mighty Arabian teacher." @ MONTGOMERY WATT, Mohammad at Mecca, Oxford 1953, p. 52: "His readiness to undergo persecutions for his beliefs, the high moral character of the men who believed in him and looked up to him as leader, and the greatness of his ultimate achievement - all argue his fundamental integrity. To suppose Muhammad an impostor raises more problems than it solves. Moreover, none of the great figures of history is so poorly appreciated in the West as Muhammad."

They (both) are just 2 different/opposite things. That's fact! Well! Let's check it out and see what 'truth' is all about actually. Here (see below): @ A. S. TRITTON in 'Islam,' 1951 "The picture of the Muslim soldier advancing with a •SWORD• in one hand and the Qur'an in the other is quite false. @ LAWRENCE E. BROWNE in ‘The Prospects of Islam,’ 1944 Incidentally these well-established facts dispose of the idea so widely fostered in Christian writings that the Muslims, wherever they went, forced people to accept Islam at the point of the •SWORD•. @ DE LACY O'LEARY: "History makes it clear however, that the legend of fanatical Muslims sweeping through the world and forcing Islam at the point of the •SWORD• upon conquered races is one of the most fantastically absurd myths that historians have ever repeated." De Lacy O'Leary, ISLAM AT THE CROSSROADS, London, 1923, p. 8. @ K. S. Rao RAMAKRISHNA RAO in 'Mohammed: The Prophet of Islam,' 1989 "My problem to write this monograph is easier, because we are not generally fed now on that (distorted) kind of history and much time need not be spent on pointing out our misrepresentations of Islam. The theory of Islam and •SWORD•, for instance, is not heard now in any quarter worth the name. The principle of Islam that “there is no compulsion in religion” is well known." @ SIKH JOURNALIST, Nawan Hindustan "In the beginning the Prophet's enemies made life difficult for him and his followers. So the Prophet asked his followers to leave their homes and migrate to Medina. He preferred migration to fighting his own people, but when oppression went beyond the pale of tolerance he took up his •SWORD• in self-defense. Those who believe religion can be spread by force are fools who neither know the ways of religion nor the ways of the world. They are proud of this belief because they are a long, long way away from the Truth." @ MAHATMA GANDHI, YOUNG INDIA, 1924 "...I became more than ever convinced that it was not the •SWORD• that won a place for Islam in those days in the scheme of life. It was the rigid simplicity, the utter self-effacement of the prophet, the scrupulous regard for his pledges, his intense devotion to his friends and followers, his intrepidity, his fearlessness, his absolute trust in God and his own mission. As regards all standards by which human greatness may be measured, we may well ask, is there any man greater than he?" @ PANDIT GYANANDRA DEV SHARMA SHASTRI, "The critics are blind. They cannot see that the only •SWORD• Muhammad wielded was the •SWORD• of mercy, compassion, friendship and forgiveness - the •SWORD• that conquers enemies and purifies their hearts. His •SWORD• was sharper than the sword of steel. But the biased critics of Islam are prejudicial and partisan, who are narrow minded and whose eyes are covered by a veil of ignorance. They see fire instead of light, ugliness instead of beauty and evil instead of good. They distort and present every good quality as a great vice. It reflects their own depravity."

Islam is the road that leads to destruction. Matthew 7:13Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14But small is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and only a few find it. 15Beware of false prophets. James Gertz Thank you for your opinion. I assume you have done some thorough research about the Quran to hold such a strong opinion. By thorough research I mean you have: 1) Found something in the Quran that appears "poisonous" to you. 2) Checked the proper context of the verse(s) you find "poisonous". 3) Checked that you haven't succumbed to any of the typical logical fallacies (especially presentism). 4) Checked what the traditional Islamic scholars have explained about the verse(s) you find to be "poisonous". 5) And after all that, you found the explanations by the Islamic scholars to be inadequate. Now with all of that in mind, please can you post what you found "poisonous" in the Quran? Also please post the explanations of the traditional Islamic scholars that you found to be inadequate. I look forward to your findings.

@b king I agree, almost all or most there are just to fight for their own side even for Islam, i am a muslim and i watch many videos talking about Islam and explaining them to others, that speakers corner although people will learn about Islam but the way is like it must be by shouting and screaming all aloud, and Allah told us in Quran to be humble and smooth in talking with others and not speak a loud, speakers corner way is just to defeat non muslims, sure there are many people convert to Islam, but Ahmed Sabeel i just only watched him this month and he is WAY better, in fact if i am non muslim for example i will never convert Islam from Speakers corner even if i admit i was wrong and guilty in my faith, but Ahmed Sabeel way or method doesn't leave any excuse to not convert or listen and understand, and after all, GOD bless all muslims regardless of their ways of preaching teaching and explanations.

I would like to add 1. that hugging or touching is function of mahram and non mahram and also function of age as well. 2. in Islam in general what is permissible for all is permissible and what is not permissible is not permissible for all of a particular category. Therefore there is nothing like covering of head like nun. And due to this reason only there is nothing like holy hug and non holy hug. Who knows the intention of person? Chances of misuse is more.

Ameen. The lady and Gentlemen sitting with Sabeel are amazing. They asked very important questions. It’s very important to let the humanity know that act of individuals or a society does not mean it’s required by their religion. Anyone is free to study their religious books and learn from there.
