Married before 18. Life in gypsy ghetto near Afghanistan w/
@BackpackerBen and I traveled across Uzbekistan, all the way to the Afghan border, to see the life of local gypsies. Some call them 'the most unwanted nation' in the world. There are many negative stereotypes about them. We decided to see if any of that is true in the simplest way possible - go to the gypsies and ask them.

I really do hope more of your videos hit big in the KZread algorithm like the western brands one. Quality is great, attention to detail is great, but most importantly I think this kind of reporting (self funded, funded by people etc.) will one day defeat the propaganda that is present in almost every country to a varying degree. Optimistic thing to say I know, but I really do think so.

Agreed 100%! The most important now is to build my core audience. I noticed that YT picks up videos when they reach at least 10K views. If I can pull this off every time I post something new, it’ll be much easier to reach a wider audience. So, thank you for this comment and for watching this content. Stay tuned for more 👌
Thanks again for inviting me to experience life here! I’m sure we will have another adventure soon 😎

Amazing! Much better than some famous news channel reporting.
Accepting others for who they are, is easier with a little knowledge of their traditions and customs. Travel and exploration Vicariously through journalism such as yours opens a portal we might never have experienced. Great job.

This is one of the aspects of Real Reporter's videos that I enjoy most. He's very accepting, understanding, and comes off as having a very unbiased perspective. The most refreshing documentaries I've seen - and on some truly incredible topics that we rarely hear about in the western world. The world is a better place because of people like him. Keep up the great reporting!!

Wow! I wasn’t sure if actual Roma lived in Central Asia as the most famous groups are found primarily in Eastern Europe. Fascinating!!!! I lived in Kazakhstan and there were “gypsies” at the bazaars but everyone called them Tajiks. Maybe they too were actual Roma?
Beautiful architecture. It seems like kind of a dangerous trip. Well done!

Hello, so I watched basically most of your videos in the past month and they're really good, thanks for your work! Especially the videos about changes and life in Russia provides much needed deep information for me and my family (for context, we are German). Please continue to do your amazing work, It really is high quality (almost ARTE documentary like) and everything is interesting, I really appreciate the conversations with citizens. Have a good one!

My friend.. you never fail to put up a great video.. I wish I was young again I would love to accompany you to some of these places and take you to some of the hard places I went in the hay day.. The people can be dangerous but mostly are just looking to make a living and live a decent life.. You are a good soul.. I hope you have the training to keep yourself safe when and if the need arrives.. Carry on son.. be ever vigilant and show the world that the life some of us lead is truly blessed.. But that people every where deserve to be happy. Carry on!

@@RealReporter Well, I have been in some small villages in the mountains of Columbia and down in the tri-boarder area between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil.. Very bad place my friend.. Life is so hopeless in some spots it has no meaning.. But those were the old day.. Back in the 70's and such.. Today I am an old man sitting on the bench for good. Now I just watch the world go by.. I did not always do the good thing.. But I always tried to do the right thing.. You are a good man.. remember always to do the right thing.. What ever that is.. thanks again for your video's.. People need to see these things..
What a educational and interesting video. Thank you. God bless and stay safe.

I had a flashback as I was watching you run to the correct train station and jump on as it left... that happened to me in Dublin! I landed in the bar car perchance, so I ended up having a great trip, chatting to some locals over a few (ok, many) regional ales 🍺 👌

@Real Reporter pretty good for a train actually, but it didn't take long for spirits to be shared too 😀 Great way to make new friends! Strangely, the best Guinness I've ever had was from a tiny pub on the Aran Islands... clean pipes and chilled fresh beer with less hops. The only Guinness I like! They also served the best chowder locally. A place full of surprises!

@Real Reporter I think your Russia exclusive content is strong. People like to see reality of life in a country which is in war and in a lot of dispute. I wish you asked the recruits in an other video more in what they believe in. Is he really thinking he'll fight nazis? Like just ask more questions your audience is interested in and always be critical. Wish you all the best :)

@@RealReporter you’re welcome. This is how the great Peter Scholl-Latour worked. He spend decades on the ground, repeatedly visiting areas and talking to leaders and people the like showing us as the west how things are and how things develop. He was both critical and constructive. It was nice seeing something genuinely new about the world and the Roma there. Seems different from here and offers a new perspective. Europe has developed so fast they face big challenges in the west. Maybe you could use your newly made connections and visit Roma across Europe or even the across world.

I just found your channel through your video " How Western brands 'left' Russia " wow! Your like a Vice documentary mixed with real social interactions with the culture that reminds me of "BaldAndBankrupt" (you 1000% should check him out if you havent.) Im over 6 videos in on your page and each one of them are fantastic, your english subtitles are perfect for an American viewer like myself and the story flows fast yet paces itself to feel like im learning so much. Subrcribed and clicked the bell for sure! haha Also this sounds cliche i know but maybe consider adding a popup or notification or even you saying it somewhere in your video to subscribe, even a little bubble that has a ding with text "Dont forget to subscribe and click the bell to be the first to see our new content!" to remind your audience. I Promise you us viewers dont mind it if its not obtrusive & 99% of your audience wont do it unless asked. Anyways Thanks for your content!

In Spain, of course, Los Gitanos (gypsies) claimed to have originated the "Flamenco" -- the crying guitars and rapid dance. They came with the Mujahidin that conquered the Iberian peninsula. To survive centuries intact and throughout Eurasia they are a strong, ancient culture. Thank you for this window into their unique world -- in Uzbekistan no less!

Strange tribe the Gypsys
Aren't they Lyuli? Roma gypsies do not consider them real gypsies. Lyuli share the same origin as gypsies, India, they left the country some centuries later though. Then, they may be considered cousina of the gypsies but not the same. Lyuli don't speak romany and have some other cultural but similar. It doesn't mean there are not roma in Uzbekistan.

as i heard the story of the roma from one of their leaders, they were expelled from the west bank of the indus river by the moslems about 1000 years ago because they had kept to the torah and didn't want to become muslims, which is why they were also hated by the hindus, according to their own stories, their ancestors had been deported by the babylonians from the israeli northern kingdom and taken to the eastern end of this kingdom, i can't judge how much that corresponds to the truth, but in the "3rd reich" they became exactly like jews treated and otherwise they are still persecuted as such today
