The “one” thing is consistency. When you are consistent, then things begin to fall into place, such as reducing added sugar.

Good stuff, just my 10 pence worth; This is the advice I would give to someone starting a health journey. 1 Eliminate Sugar from the diet as much as possible. 2 Eliminate seed oils from the diet. 3 Eliminate artificial sweeteners from the diet. 4 Eliminate Wheat from the diet 5 drastically lower other carbohydrates, especially grains or anything refined. 6 Eliminate processed food as much as possible. 7 Eat whole foods 8 Do one good set of a push/pull/squat exercise every day. Keep it simple with minimal to no equipment so you have no excuse not to do it at home. Build volume and variety gradually. 9 Eat no more than two meals a day, and try to incorporate intermittent fasting and OMAD. 10 Keep the ego in check, remember you are doing this for yourself to get the most out of your life. Be an example for, and help others do the same. The key is to pick one, do it for a few weeks and realise that you can make that change for life. After a while do another. Don't give everything up in one go or you set yourself up to fail.

Regarding 1,5 and 7. Whats your thought on vibrant sweet potatoes, and fruit, including amount per day and type. Sweet potatoes and Fruit are whole food (point 7) yet also points 1 and 5. By fruit I don't mean tomatoes and avocados etc. Thanks

@@GlennMarshallnz Hi, anyone who is diabetic or insulin resistant to a large degree, would do well to keep all carbs as low as possible, including starchy vegetables such as sweet potatoes. If you are on the other end of the scale and are more on the insulin sensitive side then these foods can be incorporated more into the diet. Probably the best fruits with regards to the amount of carbohydrate they contain are berries. If long term health is the goal, then keeping insulin levels down will go a long way towards that. Remember, any foods that spike sugar are going to spike insulin. An individuals blood glucose level may be fine but they could have severe hyperinsulinemia (high level of insulin in the blood), from years of eating refined carbs and too frequent meals. Ultimately this is devastating for the body. Intermittent fasting is the best tool for bringing insulin levels down, and if you include this in your daily life you can probably enjoy more carbohydrate dominant foods. Just remember to keep them whole and natural. So where you are health-wise will determine your own dietary choices, but the average person eating a western diet would probably do well to lower their carbohydrate intake, especially given the prevalence of type 2 diabetes and obesity.

I used to weight in almost 300 pounds so many years ago. Since then, I've been on the diet to lose weight. Last year, I was in 180 pounds. I did loss 100 pounds or more than 100, but I gain back 30 or 35 pounds during the health condition issues, regardless of the pandemic. Today I am 230 pounds. So I was wondering if is that good or bad? Just curious about it. I hope you have some tips of the weight loss I need help with the advice.

I really enjoy Mark Sisson and the content he provides, but I have a critique about the host for these interviews… the professionalism is seriously lacking. The questions and commentary seem generally unprepared and without much depth. In another recent video, she couldn’t stop playing with her hair on camera. It was so hard to watch, I couldn’t make it through. This is the second host in a row for Mark’s Daily Apple that has bombed. It’s really a shame because if you don’t know much about Sisson or his books, etc. this young woman is making a very poor case for anyone to want to dig deeper in my opinion. I rarely give negative reviews, but I couldn’t help it as I want to see you guys succeed and these video hosts aren’t really helping the cause! I think she has a lot of potential to be better with some expert coaching and education.
