I watched Mark Henry get some medical work done to him by Dr. Beau Hightower here in KZread and he talked a lot about himself and "The Wrasslin Bidness" which helped me get to know Mark a little bit better than just as a wrestler. So when I saw this interview pop up in my mailbox, I instantly new this would be a Game Changer! I particularly laughed out loud at Mark mentioning @ 3:37 "Part 2of my killing spree would have started"🤣 As always Chris...Great questions and always cool to see how comfortable your interviewee's are with you....especially now that you are Super Famous as Mark mentions at the beginning of the Full Conversation! I remember hearing about when they first signed him in 1996 and Vince McMahon prematurely signed him originally to a 20 year contract & once he regretted it the WWF/WWE tried so hard for so many years to get him to quit so they didn’t have to pay him for the remaining years left on his contract if they terminated it instead which is why it appears that they were trying to bury Mark Henry all the time because they were pretty much trying to bury him all the time to get him to quit to save money

He gets ribbed because he’s so overly serious … yet dangerous ..

They made Mark Henry the Silverback Gorilla then pulled the plug on that gimmick because it was completely racist. Great guy who they put through so much in WWE.

As a performer i would have played it off as a heel. When i figured sin cara wasnt coming I wouldn't have been like " You people want to see sin cara? Hes not coming " and start laughing in the ring and point at the audience mic or no mic lol

He should have got a Sin Cara mask and forced it on Vince's head.

Vince playin the card of 'it's just a prank bro", like really?? Vince was so fuckin cruel to his employees.

Wait. They pretended he had a match then cut his mic off and he wanted to go to prison over it??? Literally not close to a rib deserving of that reaction.

Vince is an asshole. But his prank worked as Hall of Pain was a great character.

What I still don’t understand about that incident is why? Why did Vince pull this rib Mark Henry in particular? Why rib a veteran of the business who have long since paid their dues and have put on some of the best performances with the top stars of the company? Why rib him on live tv?All the infamous or hilarious ribs done to wrestlers were done backstage among the boys. What purpose did it serve for the show that night? What goes on in Vince’s head is a total mystery I swear.

Vince wanted Mark to go full heel but Mark didn't want to partially becuse he felt he couldn't control himself when full tilt angry and he felt he didn't have it in him to be angry or pretend to be angry and heel. Mark wanted to be the "anti-hero" route. Mark didn't want to be the stereotypical "angry black man".

Vince is insane but that's what made him number 1

You have to take into consideration where he was at in his career at that point. If you prank John Cena like that he could laugh. But if you prank someone who was barely on tv in a meaningful role and mainly putting over guys.. it is disrespectful. You're making a mockery of him.
