But your voice lends a sense of authenticity to the content and it’s nice to hear since it’s unique and belongs to the content creator. Ultimately I want you to succeed so I guess you should sit back and see how the video does and decide!

that's the kind of thing that made his wrestling career interesting. He was just as fun to watch as "The World's Strongest Man" as he was as "The Hall of Pain" and "Sexual Chocolate". When I was a young fellow in the Army, me and a fellow soldier started horsing around in the boxing ring, pulling off Pro Wrestling moves. We soon had an audience, and after about 15 minutes, we were both totally exhausted. Until then, I thot it was fakery. Next morning, I could not believe the pain. I disagree because the reality is that he almost has no Olympic resume at all. His junior career is impressive but at the Olympics level there's nothing there so I don't know how he is "one of the best strength athlete's in history." One of the best "strongmen" of course. They were going on and on about his 180 kg snatch meanwhile we've seen WOMEN snatch 155 kg. Apparently 2 men in the 1996 Olympics managed to snatch 200 and that was a long time ago. Current Olympic record is 223 kg snatch set in 2020.

I had the extreme fortune to lift on the University of Texas Longhorn Powerlifting team where he trained with Dr's Jan and Terry Todd. True story: In 1995 a couple of us younger lifters (myself included) had failed to make the qualifier of collegiate nationals. Dejected, he said to me, "Don't worry about it, it'll happen." Because they decided to hold a meet at UT where he was lifting, there were national judges, and hence it was an official qualifying meet. And I finally got my act together and made it to Nationals! I was so excited that I didn't even see him come up behind me and pick my ass up in the air (I was a 148 pounder, Mark ate steaks bigger than I was). He just said to me, "See, I told ya you'd make it little man." So 2 national collegiate championships and 4 American collegiate records later, I have Mark to thank. He truly is the NICEST guy you'll ever meet.

A great video as usual of yours. Thank u. What many people overlook is the fact that Mark Henry was regarded, acknowledged and considered as the world's strongest man in not one point but 2 different points of phase in his career. The first one was when he won both national and world powerlifting championships in 1995 and in that process set the all time world records in raw squat with knee wraps of 953.5 lbs and raw deadlift with 903.9 lbs. These two were world records in both tested as well as untested federations of powerlifting. The squat world record lasted for 15 years from 95-10 in untested division in superheavyweight class broken by Robert wilkerson, but was originally broken 3 years prior in 2007 by Sergey Kurnaukhov in a 308 lbs weight class so for 12 years regardless of weight class from 95-07 and for 22 years in tested division from 95-17 broken by Jezza Uepa whereas deadlift world record lasted for 10 years from 95-05 in untested division broken by Benedict Magnusson, for 17 years from 95-12 in tested division broken by Mikhail Koklaev in superheavyweight class and regardless of weight class by Konstantin konstantinovs at the lighter weight class in 2009 so, 13 years from 95-09. In addition to that he also set the all time world record in drug tested raw powerlifting total with 2337 lbs and that total was also the 4th best among non drug tested totals as well at that time behind only Reinhoudt, Cole and Kuc. . This total lasted for 22 years from 95-17 in drug tested meet broken by Jezza Uepa . What's worth noting is that he set those records and won the national and world Championship while primarly being a weightlifter and hadn't competed in powerlifting for 5 years prior to 1995 as his whole focus was on weightlifting as a result he trained on the powerlifts only sparingly in 95 when he won and set the world records in powerlifting. In the same calendar year,in weightlifting he won the bronze, silver and gold medal at Pan American games. In the next year in 96 , he won the national weightlifting championship for the 3rd time and by doing so set the american national record in snatch of 396 lbs and clean and jerk of 485 lbs which gave him the total of 881 lbs. The all 3 national records set by him in snatch, clean and jerk and total lasted until 1997 When Shane Hammon broke them , but this 881 lbs total , in the opinion of many experts in track field of international lifting including Dragomir Cioroslan ,the 96s coach of us team - was the highest made by an athlete who had never used anabolic steroids. who has never used peds. Due to his 5 lift total by that time, Henry at the age of 24 , was generally acknowledged as the strongest man in the world, even by many of the eastern Bloc European weightlifters who outrank him in weightlifting. No one in the history of sport has lifted as much as him in the five competitive lifts - 2 lifts of weightlifting and 3 lifts of powerlifting. To this day his 5 lift total is still the greatest in history making him arguably one of the strongest man that ever lived , and stamp him according to lifting statistician, Herb Glossbrenner as history's greatest overall lifter . Having achieved these all time records in the lifting sports and achieving these at a very young age of 24 while being lifetime drug free makes it even more impressive. He also held the world record in combined lifting supertotal which consists of official weightlifting total + official powerlifting total, in addition to 5 lift combined total from 1996-2012 when Mikhail Koklaev superceded this record. Mark is no. 2 even at this point of time. The second time when Henry was again seen as the legit strongest man in the world by many lifting experts since 1996 when he won the inaugural Arnold strongman classic in 2002 by training specifically for 6 weeks for the contest and defeating the best worldwide strongman of that time including, the then reigning world's strongest man of 2001 Svend Carlsen , who all were practicing for years. His win was a shock for strongman experts worldwide. Many experts in the field , including Bill Kazmaier, Dr. Terry and Jan Todd, Dr. Robert M. Goldman, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Muscle and fitness magazine and Flex magazine , consider him to be one of the strongest man that ever lived or even the most naturally gifted strongman in history. What's more frightening was that Mark with all of these accomplishments was never even in his physical prime as he quit his lifting career by the age of just 26 in 97 and came back for just one strongman competition in 02 . Normally strength athletes in powerlifting and strongman reach their prime between 28-35 and Mark was far away from reaching his strength peak. We can just imagine what he might've done had he kept lifting.

I briefly met Mark Henry at the Arnold Classic in 2011. I think he'd already retired from Strength sports at that point and was acting as one of the judges but still looked like he could have been competing! Mark Henry never reached his true potential in any strength discipline. He was way too young when he set his Olympic weightligitng and powerlifting records. And he only trained for and competed in one strongman competition (ASC 2002). Guys like Big Z or Hafthor trained for many years until they won their first ASC or WSM. Henry did it the first time he tried and then immediately retired and went back to his wrestling career.

Ben Johnson was stripped of his 100 meter dash gold medal and we learned later that Carl Lewis who was awarded the gold was ALSO on PED's. Its all about the chemistry of the PEDs staying one step ahead of the testing...Also check out that documentary about the Soviet doping program its called "Icarus." @@hoffjdod3276 that fast twitch because of ethnicity is nonsense, which ethnicity? Black? Not all blacks even have fast twitch muscles: "There’s no such thing as having fast-twitch muscle fiber because you’re black. The causal unit is a gene, or a network of genes, or a network of genes and environmental factors. Being black only makes you more likely to have a genetic variant that makes you more likely to have extra fast-twitch fiber." (Title: White Men Can’t Jump?Race, genes, and sports, BY WILLIAM SALETAN,DEC 05, 20087:30 AM) . It's not defined to one race/ethnicity because not all people in that ethnicity have that gene. I lived in Africa and the US, fast twitch muscles can be in any race. West Africa has some of the best sprinters in the planet (some from Jamaica and US have inherited this from that region) , it would be ignorant to say that because they are the fastest that automatically makes all Africans(blacks) the best runners because genetically not all blacks have the sprinter genes like many west Africans. We don't even know what kind of African he is, Bantu, Nilotic, Igbo, Hausa, Hutu, Kanuri, (there's almost 30 and they are not all the same black people, some have Asian and European ancestry since the beginning of time)? Another thing is most blacks in the US have white in them from slavery or Native American Indians heritage who's to say that these factors couldn't have helped him?

Honestly my biggest reason for skepticism against Mark’s natty status is when he not only condemned Hafthor for admitting PED usage as if everyone didn’t already know, but he claimed that he thought the guys competing at the Arnold were natural and was shocked and appalled. Like how do you believe the pro-strongmen were natural, especially being in the strength world, that is either some serious naïveté, or you’re really overcompensating to make people think you’re natty

@@RonnieM90 U r giving wrong examples buddy because u haven't understand the genetics of Mark Henry. He was never less than 350 lbs since the day he touched 15-16 years of age upto recently in 2021 when he became 50 years old. He was always a big kid. It doesn't matter whether he was playing basketball or football he was always over 350 lbs because at the same time he was also lifting heavy weights in the gym. A good sign of him being lifetime natural. By 16 he was 350 , by 18 he was close to 400 lbs. Do your maths now and in between he became 3 time Texas powerlifting champion. He did decrease his bodyweight but that was for Olympic weightlifting when he started learning it in 1990 being 19 years old, from 400 lbs to 370 lbs due to explosiveness involve in that sport. And it didn't even matter because Mark can dunk basketball even at 410 lbs bodyweight. He ran a 40 yard dash in 5.2 seconds and can turn into full split in the air at a bodyweight of 370 lbs back in 1990. He was incredibly fast and explosive for his size which helped him in transition from powerlifting to weightlifting very quickly.
