My only gripe with this DLC is how they removed the dash panels and moving cars in Coconut Mall. It's still a fun course and I love it. Other than that the DLC is really awesome and fun!!

We've really come a long way, glad to see nintendo improving the quality of the tracks each wave

We've come a long way since Wave 1, looking back at this gives me a lot of nostalgia. This was an incredible journey!

I remember when I saw the 2014 trailer for Mario Kart 8 and the music to Mario Kart Stadium was playing first and after about 1 minute, the N64 Rainbow Road section started to play. I can still play it from time to time nowadays.

I still remember playing Mario Kart 64 with my buddies back in the day...so awesome. Choco Mountain still rules.

Plus, a lot of adults that were born in the 1960s and earlier didn't get the chance to play video games in their childhood, because they simply did not exist yet. A KZreadr's Grandma who is in her 80s spends HOURS on Animal Crossing. She spent hours on New Leaf when it was released. Then when New Horizons was released, she spend more hours on it. The think I hate about most humanity is that people make fun of adults who play "video games". Like that means you shouldn't be playing M rated games as a kid. Where's the logic. If adults can't play "kid's games" then kids can't play "Adult games".

Already got 3 star gold trophies on all of them, these courses are so much fun, hats off to the people that worked on these. I’ve missed these maps, and the Tour maps are very interesting, the twists of them changes lanes every lap is really awesome! Hoping to see Waluigi Pinball and Toad Factory in the future! Maybe even Mushroom Gorge and 3DS Rainbow Road

I adore choco mountain, the facelift is certainly appreciated, and being able to play the tour tracks on a Mario Kart I actually enjoy playing is a huge plus! That said, Nintendo, I would be willing to pay for a character and kart customization booster pass (so I can play as Nabbit or Diddy and see something other than Waluigis on Wigglers for a change online)

At that point you're just asking for a whole new game, because why would they put that much effort into for an almost 10 year game. I mean yes look at the tracks they're bringing to this, but to be honest I think whatever tracks they bring for the rest of this DLC, will have been already added to Tour, or will be coming to Tour in the near future. I think they're just doing this DLC to give us more content for the time being while they start to work on the next Mario kart game, and I personally feel like they're being a little lazy to be completely honest, they're (so far with this first wave) just porting the tracks from Tour like I mentioned earlier and upgrading the graphics of them just a little bit, and nothing more. I mean I haven't played much Tour myself, but I'm pretty sure all of these tracks (retro tracks not the Tracks made new for Tour) are in Tour already like I said. So yeah, that's my thoughts lol

One update that I wish for is the option to disable certain items when creating custom lobbies, and maybe the option to add more laps to race sets. I think it could be a nice improvement.

@@azloyal298 It makes sense that the tour city tracks are all rolled into one, because the city tracks are short in the game and there are multiple variations on all of them, it would make sense that they're all combined into one (with each of the laps representative of one version)

Can confirm that DS Shroom Ridge is now my favorite course in this game 😁. I’m definitely looking forward to each and every wave!

It is honestly a cheap price for 48 courses, I'm betting my money on Waluigi Pinball being one of the unrevealed ones.

I'M IN LOVE!!!! The first wave was such an amazing experience. From being able to play Choco Mountain for the first time in over 20 years (I'm that 90s kid) to exploring several tracks never before played such as all of the tour tracks and Sky Garden. But the ultimate best has got to be the Ninja Hideaway. I was blown out of my mind....and onto the floor! And yes I will be playing again shortly!

I'm glad you can buy separately as opposed to the expansion pass preventing me from getting N64 on its own. That annual fee isn't worth it, better off with joycon drift on Tokyo drift err blur lol couldn't help 😂

It’s crazy to think about how much Mario Kart has evolved.. In my opinion, these tracks did not get the same amount of effort put into them as the base tracks so some of them feel empty. Regardless, they are still fun and welcome additions!

The anti-gravity gimmick like the "3D" slider is fading into obscurity. I don't mind it that much, but still, if it continues to be like that... "Mario Kart 3DS/Tour DLC upscaled for Switch" even mk7 used the glider/underwater more than wave 1 tracks. (for now lol)

I think the other courses felt less empty because they had things moving in the background like banners or birds, which made them feel more alive. These new courses don’t have that. Also the trees and bushes are more basic and don’t have as much detail as the original Mariokart 8 courses.

To be honest i hated it at first but later on I LOVED Ninja Hideaway, was SOOOO really soooo hard to dominate the track, i spent probably 1 hour and 30 minutes to just be really good on the track, but the design and uniqueness is so OMG that is one muy favorites tracks of all the game and Mario Kart Franchise as a whole, indeed.

This DLC was better than I was expecting! I love these selections of tracks and I look forward to more in the future! Great job Nintendo! 😁

I’m looking forward to get the new New Courses in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

1 years since the Booster Course Pass, and my god, we've come a long way since Wave 1 in 2022. Very awesome that these waves improve its quality since Waves 1 and 2 especially with adding characters now. Very exciting for the final wave to end off this DLC of this 10 year old game, jeez christ, what is time anymore.

I was in it mostly for the soundtrack and the artists certainly did not disappoint!! This continues to be my favorite soundtrack of all time!!

I've always wanted to see Shroom Ridge become a Retro track. Thank you for making it a reality Nintendo. And for making Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Yoshi and/or Rosalina as the intended characters!

I give up! I guess wave 2 isn't gonna come out this Summer. I've been anxiously waiting since Summer break first started. How disappointing! When wave 2 finally does get announced it's not gonna be as exciting to me anymore...

That looks so awesome, I’m so happy that they brought back Sky Garden, the theme is so amazing.

Ninja Hideaway is actually one of my new favorites, mostly due to how we literally go through a dojo with multiple paths. When do we get a teaser for the next batch of courses?

I'm excited the DS Shroom Ridge, its my favourite tracks ever made 🥺

Here’s some of my predictions of courses that might make it into other waves: Mario Circuit 1 (SNES) Kalimari Desert (64) Waluigi Pinball (DS) Dry Dry Ruins (Wii) Moonview Highway (Wii) Rainbow Road (Wii) Rainbow Road (3DS)

The ones from Mario Kart Tour are the best ones 🥰 The way the course changes every round is just amazing

They did coconut mall dirty in my opinion As they have removed; The escalators are now ramps not stairs The cars in the parking lot don’t move The cars also have shy guys in them not miis There is only two cars The course feels shorter Overall I feel like the coconut mall looks more like a holiday clubhouse

I wish we got more courses soon! My favorite is Ninja in this wave. I hope we can get remake of Maka Wuhu and Rainbow Road (3DS), DK Mountain or Dino Jungle or Bowser's Castle (GCN), and Waluigi Pinball or Airship Fortress (NDS), and Koopa Cape (Wii) in the future waves!

I love how Sky Garden is super fast and short but still highly action packed as a circut

These tracks are all pretty interesting, ive been enjoying them all! I love how fast everything feels and cant wait to try them with friends

Choco Mountain, Shroom Ridge and Sky Garden bring me such a nostalgic feeling when I played on the DS with my buddys. Ninja Hideway has a terrific soundtrack and lore! Love it! My only hopes are getting more Characters or Costumes to have a different perspective :)

A lot of people complained for the Tour courses… now I can say that they are amazing because of the different routes you can take depending on the lap… for Paris Promenade I think the last lap was a reversed one… that was amazing, and I became speechless when I tried Ninja Hideway… probably the best track of this wave

Plenty of idiots are negatively biased against the Tour tracks sadly

Paris Promenade last lap is sheer chaos going against the previous racers, it’s so much fun

been finished with first set and like my other siblings I hold very special feelings for Tokyo Blur say what you want about details on a screen but it is so nice to play anew course without annoying conditions to race it Paris Parmanade 1500-200cc & Ninja Hideaway at 200cc Never Again! No More💢

This really puts the word "Deluxe" in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. So far, I have nothing to complain about.

Yes, you're right these are past mario kart's tracks which have been lazily "remastered" and you're paying for this

Loving the remastered music for Sky Garden. Super Circuit is my big nostalgia game...

God, Sky Garden really seems like they're pulling from some of the more obscure tracks and I'm here for it.

I love what they did with the tour tracks, really cool, the one thing I am sad about is that on shroom ridge the cars go the same way

One similar thing that's quite strange is that the track is in a weird middle ground between Toad's Turnpike and Moonview Highway where the order and type of vehicles don't change between races but the color of cars is randomized

Don't like that Coconut Mall changed that much

I'm really impressed with Paris Promenade, they nailed it!

Overall, the DLC is pretty good. I absolutely loved the City Tracks, due to how they integrate all the versions of the courses, rather than just one. The track selection is also great, although Toad Circuit is kind of a boring track. I'm sure however, that as more DLC waves come out, the tracks will increase in difficulty. I also loved how the tracks for the most part used new remixes. They could've easily reused the Tour Remixes, but instead we get brand new versions of Sky Garden and Toad Circuit. However, here's where my issues start... Sky Garden has been absolutely butchered. Coconut Mall to a lesser extent as well. Sky Garden is missing a majority of its turns and even its difficulty. Coconut Mall is missing the giant sign at the end, along with the boost panels. Miis no longer populate the track, and the cars are now stationary. Then, the graphics. I've always been a believer that graphics don't matter, but it's really jarring to go from Shy Guy Falls or Ribbon Road, to Shroom Ridge or Choco Mountain. Also, Anti-Gravity isn't utilized at all. Of course, all of my issues with the DLC come as a result of the courses being ported from Tour. (Even if two of the courses aren't even out in Tour yet) Overall, the first wave of DLC gets a total score of 8/10

the worst part imo is the anti-gravity... like that's one of the most advertised features of the game (even being on the thumbnail of this video) and like half of its tracks in total (when all the waves are released) wont be utilizing it?

There was actually a potential to add anti-gravity in Coconut Mall in the stairs/ramp sections, but they sadly didn’t add it.
