Thanks!
From what I have heard, Marilyn's mother, Gladys Jean Baker, was a diagnosed schizophrenic who needed to be institutionalized. Now, they may have medications to help with the symptoms, but back in the 1920s and 1930s there was probably no medication to help!
I never knew Marilyn had a sister , the mother , marilyn and her sister truly resemble each other may they all rest in peace great video . From Australia

To this day Marilyn is still the World's Biggest Star. Thank you for this share of Bernice and Paris's resting place.
Norma Jeans mother was beautiful and so was her sister.
Thanks for showing us where MM's sister is buried. MM herself always seemed to be under the control of various people (coaches/husbands/therapists etc), so she probably had very few chances to try and maintain contact with a sister whose life was so different from her own. Seeing photos of Berniece is the only chance we'll get to realize what MM may've looked like had she lived beyond the age of 36.

Except Norma Jean (MM) had changed herself so much with plastic surgery’s and such. She had such beautiful long red curly hair I don’t see why she cut it short and dyed it blonde.

My husband and I used to walk this cemetery for exercise all the time. I had no idea this is where she’s buried.
I loved "Some Like It Hot" and also "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes." She was a good comedic actress!

There is a YT video with Robert Mitchum and Jane Russell talking about their relationship, both personal and professional, with Marilyn. Both made movies with her and Mitchum was her line supervisor at Lockheed Aircraft.
Oh my goodness ! I went to nursing school, and I did my training mostly at Pineville Hospital. Who knew? You are right, they do look alike. I personally think side by side without all the makeup, Bernice was prettier than Marilyn. Thank you for always sharing these little pearls of information. I for one really appreciate it.

Very interesting. Thanks!
Wasn't suicide. Wasn't accidental. It was definitely murder. So says Sgt Jack Clemmons, who investigated the scene of her death. So says Samir Muquaddin, the Deputy Coroner. So says LAPD Officer Mike Rothmiller, check out his 2021 book. So says James Hall, who was called to her house when Marilyn first went comatose. That case bothers me because the cover-up goes all the way up to Washington DC.

Both Marilyn and Princess Diana died at age 36 years!
Robert F. Kennedy. He was in her house several times that day. As soon as the funeral was over, her housekeeper ironically was whisked off to Europe for months (wonder who funded it). Marilyn’s personal assistance (Pat Newcomb) also was whisked off to Europe for months after the burials Then, ironically, Pat Newcomb had a job lined up for her, working for Bobby Kennedy. She never killed herself and it’s sad that she never got the Justice she deserved.

Exactly! And Pat Newcomb after 5 days of MM’s funeral was invited to the Kennedy’s yacht. There’s a photo where she and others were laughing and looked very happy and healthy. By the way is she alive? Some yeast ago she was.

I enjoy a lot of area history. I had never heard this story. There have been a lot of famous people from this region. Gary Powers (U2 spyplane) was born in Jenkins KY and raised in Pound, VA across the mountain there. Jerry Chestnut from Loyall, KY wrote a lot of hit country and rock songs. Cawood Ledford, of course will always be the voice of UK Basketball. Just to name a few.

One of my high school teachers at Lee High School in Virginia who grew up in Rose Hill had dated Lee Majors when they were both high school age. She talked before about leaving Thomas Walker High School and driving with her friends in an old Ford Model T down to Middlesboro KY and meeting him and how she went on some dates with him. She said he was a very nice young man but she had no idea he had any interest in acting as he was all about sports back then. She didn't talk about it much.

@Appalachian Woman My Daddy always spoke that Lee Majors was injured playing football at East Tennessee State University . After the injury ended, any hope of a professional sports career he became interested in acting. Once, many years ago, when I I was young, we( my dad and I ) stopped the home where he was raised. At that time, early 1970, something he was already a TV and movie star ,however we were able to meet his mother, his photo hung on the wall from the Big Vally western TV series and she gave us an autographed photo. A lovely woman and a modest and very neat and clean home, as I recall .

She looked so much like her little sister, my mom's a big Marilyn fan but I bet she doesn't know her sister's just over the mountain in KY. I know that through my DNA profile and family tree that I am related to James Dean another 1950s Icon and Hollywood Legend as my maternal grandfather was a Wilson as was his mother and from the same family. Also wasn't there an actress that was on some 1960s I believe Western TV show that was born and had a home in Appalachia VA?

I think you're talking about Peggie Castle who along with John Russell and Peter Brown played on one of my favorite old western tv shows Lawman. It don't get too much cooler than being related to the king of cool James Dean! Thanks for watching!
I haven't read Bernice's book, but I do agree with the thought that Marilyn's death could have been accidental overdose, since I understood, that it was common knowledge, in Hollywood, that Marilyn mixed alcohol & prescription drugs, which her Hollywood friends had warned Marilyn against doing, but she would mix them anyway.

Someone made a film that Marilyn was the mother of General F. Supposedly, Marilyn had a certain genetic condition and could not have children of her own, especially at that time. "Team XXX One in 1,000 women has an extra X chromosome, or trisomy 23. This syndrome is called superwoman or superwoman syndrome. Women with XXX syndrome are characterized by taller than average height and more pronounced feminine features such as larger breasts, wider hips and thicker pubic hair...."
