Teresa Den I am part of the new generation but hate most of the new music. Some of the artists nominated do have deeper songs but those songs are not the ones that get airplay or become popular. For example Ariana Grande 7 rings is a hit song but to me it’s one of her worst. A song like imagine is more meaningful for example. I appreciate Mariah’s music very much I know there are song younger lambs like me under 20. But yes the general teenager today has horrible taste in music. Lyrics are not as meaningful as this song. I don’t even think they know what trepidation means 🙄

Though you’re right, music will always change 😕 that’s the reason why many good artists fell off. In the 90s, young people took over and R&B became bigger than Pop (in the 80s). In the 2000s, Hip Hop was big, but R&B was still popular. Now, everyone prefers hip hop 🤦🏽‍♂️ But her songwriting skills are underrated. People like Toni Braxton, Mariah Carey, Mary J Blige, & Brandy should still be dominating the charts...
