Professional record and live record are two different things. You can see the difference by comparing Whitney houston's 'I will always love you performance in 1994 grammys' and 'I will always love you performance in 2010 grammys tribute for her' as grammy awards start their professional recording in 1995. It makes the sound clearer and weaker.

Music Box because some of it is lipped. Most of it was live but some of this performance was lipped for the sake of preserving her voice for the entirety of the performance and for the sake of Fly Like A Bird’s intergalactic difficultly and singing it on the biggest televised night for music of the year. It’s ok that some of it was lipped. Everything worked out perfectly for her this night.
