she definitely looks and sounds a little sick or something of the sort there, her eyes look swelled up or something too (you dont see her pupils the entire clip). compare it to the WBT clip where she also phrases whistles and she seems much healthier.

Her voice just needs rest from time to time. She’s been going so hard for decades and it’s also not the same as being on stage in heels and a gown and trying to perform. When her voice is relaxed and rested she always delivers. She’s given too much for the disrespect she gets from people. She is THE LEEGND. 🌹😍😍😍

The pianist is also really great, his chemistry with Mariah... Their harmonies are amazing

Yes I hope so too! A positive thing about quarantine is the time she's had to rest her voice, get inspired, write and sing some good songs. Let's hope we get a new album or at least some singles :)

The nasal constriction on the breathy vocals for Whole World In His Hands, Through the Rain, Close My Eyes, & Save the Day are my least favorite parts of this era. It always sounds like she has a cold. The main drawback to her matured voice even when in decent vocal condition is the loss of her beautiful tone on upper belts, falsetto, and whistle register circa 2015-present. That and the dropped enunciation on certain phrases.

tbh i think a big part of the problem is the lack of proper post-production. she sounds great but the quality just sounds... off.

I agree partially. I disagree with: The Close My Eyes performance was perfect and up to par with the 97 live version. And her recent whistles are better than they have been since the mid 2000s (not circa 2015). Everything else though I agree with you

I think she has to use the nasal constriction more often because nodules made it harder for her to sing higher notes. But she's trying her best so I really appreciate that

No. The quarantine just helped her rest her voice! If she removes her nodules she might lose her whistle register or worse lose her voice completely! It's a risky operation and I'm guessing it's not even a considerate option for her...

I dont why why her voice in quarantine is superb good but the christmas show 2022 is kinda horrible:(
