Probably pre-recorded mostly with some live parts mixed in. She’s been doing this to make it sound totally live for a long time for the parts she can no longer sing. On record it’s spliced together. Love her, but it’s gotten tricky to tell the difference. She’s under a lot of pressure to sound her best. Who knows knows the actual state of her vocal health.

Sad part is tommy actually helped her by not having her do 6-7 shows per album, the team she got after leaving him screwed her over, she even says they did in her book, she was that yes girl. But yes over touring with butterfly really affected her voice. Definitely made it more raspy, but I enjoy the rasp but I have vocal nodes too so I feel her pain and despite that pain out comes the most beautiful God made instrument 💙💙💙 heavenly

​@@brianbilbao2 when you have nodes the more you overwork them it starts to feel.like swallowing broken glass. And yes her vocal chords are very sensitive. I have nodes and somedays nothing comes out at all I can't even talk and her songs are not easy to sing, it's not like msriah has ghost singers like some pop stars these days but the vocal chords can be over used

Mariah Carey is literally an international treasure and should be protected at all costs.

This is the best I’ve heard her sing in ages. Her original music before 2000 was the ultimate Mariah vocals and music. I’m glad she still pulls it off beautifully . I adore her

She snapped! The SO FAITHFULLY belt and the whistle were INCREDIBLE! We haven’t gotten those in years. Everything from the lows, her tone, etc were amazing! I wish we could get a performance like once a week this was so good!

Well you could say that about America perhaps. Vox did. They did a video on why the US National Anthem is both good and bad. It's bad because normal people can't hit it. The good part and you don't really need to sing it a lot of time, and people just watch singers perform it to fail.

It was performed on/during a work week at her house. Big difference. Come on, NYE the world saw it and was SUPPOSED to be a prepared performance which millions were going to see. This was a fun thing during the week...... I can see why this didn't make headlines.

honestly speaking, from all her home-studio performances, this is by far the best. • her tone is so clear and free of nasality • her belts sound so open belting up to Eb5 • these new attempts are amazing that she hasn't done in years there might be a slight rasp, but it still slays!

She has always been good, she just needed vocal rest which is what Corona is allowing for her to do.

Mariah never lost it, she just needs more rest and not be stressed
