I’m a big fan of Phil Collins and his catalogue, I think he’s amazing. But I’m also a lamb.. she covered that perfectly. Mariah has a lot of emotions in her voice but she’s not “focused” on giving emotions to others, she’s focused on expressing the lyrics perfectly with her voice. Mariah’s version just takes me very high in the sky ❤️

I love the Rainbow tone here. I like her voice a little more raspy as it brings out more emotions to me. A pretty voice is not always about hitting all the notes, but also about bringing emotions to the lyrics that you sing. This song is a masterpiece both in Phil Collins original version, but also in Mariah Careys version. :)
