    It's a different type of intimidation. Some people are scared when they are being shouted at. Others are intimidated by smouldering looks and disappointment. Gordon encapsulates one philosophy and Marco the other, so both will scare different types of people. More importantly, both are brilliant chefs.

    Eh I mean the Donkey line is from Hell's Kitchen. Chefs who come to Hell's Kitchen aren't coming to be mentored or taught, they're there to prove their worth to Ramsay and get a job from him usually. Masterchef participants aren't even pros most of the time

    Marco is just as fierce if not worse than Gordon when it comes to temper. Thing is this is master chef lol even gordon is as nice as it comes on masterchef. But gordon has said time and time again its different when you are a home cook on the side and when your a top chef making dumb mistakes on things like Hells Kitchen. To Gordon, these professional chefs should know better than make those kinds of mistakes which pisses him off.

    This is why Marco is one of the best. He’s not overdramatic or flamboyant. He’s intimidating yet calm, and is able to criticise yet inspire hope in chefs with just a few quiet words.

    Gordon is very calm. Watch kitchen nightmare UK version. But American viewers need drama, yelling and suspense music. So gordon shouts and curses. It's all staged.

    Watching Marco speak is like watching Hannibal Lecter speak. He's eloquent, calm, perhaps even charming, and an unparalleled genius in his craft...yet somehow you feel like if you make the wrong move he'll serve your liver with fava beans and a nice Amarone (because it pairs better with liver than Chianti).

    I quite liked John before this. He was nice, he was another likeable contestant. But after what he did to his team in this episode I really disliked him. It was a team challenge and they had a good thing going. Poor Georgia. I started to notice that he was actually quite arrogant, always going against the judges advice because he thought he knew better.

    He should have been eliminated on the spot. Instead his team had to compete in an elimination and the other guy (the captain) ended up going home. The girl at the end did really well though.

    He was a terrifying chef in an era of terrifying chefs. Some of the stories are legendary but he’d be in huge trouble these days behaving the way he did. But I trained in the 90s so he’ll always be the king for me.

I'm sure every single person on that judging panel has a good reason to be there. There are very few people at Marco's level; yet, I doubt he'd waste his time insulting his fellow judges. That's not the measure of a man of worth. * Chef George Calombaris has been awarded 16 Michelin stars in total for his work in the kitchen. That's one less than Gordon Ramsay. The man knows what he's about. * Chef Gary Mehigen is a Michelin Star chef who's headed two of the most successful restaurants in Australia. * Matt Preston is a respected food critic, food journalist and writer. The man not only knows food, he respects what it takes to do it at the highest levels.
