MARCH in Switzerland? Spring or Winter? What you NEED to KNOW!
Switzerland during the month March: Is it now Spring already or still Winter. Well, March is a complicated month. Traveling during that month can be tricky, but with proper preparations, you will have a great trip. During March the weather can be very cold or warm, it can be Winter or already more to Spring. However, the big blossom only happened during April and May. Traveling in March has the advantage of experiencing a lot of snow up in the Alps, the days are longer and skiing is great. However, March is also peak season for Winter sports. Yet, it’s a good time to travel. March is a month of culture. There will be many festivals like carnival in Basel, Chienbäsä, Chalandamarz in Graubünden or Easter processions. However, some of them might also take place during February, it depends on the year you will be traveling. Checking the dates prior to booking your trip is highly recommended. March allows you to again do more, but yet Summer season still has not started in most of the places. Especially up in the Alps, the Winter season lasts until at least mid-march to end March, sometimes even longer. It will be more expensive to travel up in the Swiss Alps during March, whereas in the rest of Switzerland, it will be cheaper. Traveling in March is really worth it, it requires good planning and preparations, a diverse itinerary and certainly a good mix between staying up in the Swiss Alps and in the cities. Certainly, an enjoyable month before the big travel season.

@@DjemoGraphic Djemo, if you don't mind me asking, well maybe I didn't notice it. From what I see in videos, many houses and buildings don't have chimneys, do they all have fireplace in the homes or hotel rooms to warm them up in winter, well like I said, it's a really silly question and I probably didn't notice the chimneys. 😀

Hi Terri. I am about to publish a Switzerland map with most of the spots about which I have a KZread video or Instagram Reel. I will update you once the map is out. It will cost roughly 15 CHF; depends on the supplier who develops this map. About renting: I did rent the skis there. It just feels more convenient, and it's not that expensive compared to the rest. I found the price quite good. Some of the hotels have contracts with ski rental places. You might get discount there and they will bring you the skis to the hotel :)
Oh I spontaneously decided to drive to Switzerland next week :/ Somehow thought it will be at least a bit greenish. Can you recommend any hiking route this time? No need hight attitude, it I'm surrounded with high mountains but am at the bottom it's totally fine

Hi. Nice! I have never tried paragliding. I think it will be nice with the snow mountains. But I cannot predict the weather. Fingers crossed you will have sunny weather!

It's really worrying. The 0 degrees altitude has raised over 700 meters since 1850. Very scary. I feel hopeless about global warming :(

@@kd4475 currently getting a second winter with some snow and cold temps in the higher altitudes, when you come here don’t plan anything at a resort that doesn’t have a decent chunk of terrain over 2500m (8000ft) because there just isn’t a guarantee for snow at the lower elevation resorts, a lot of guides online about “snow-sure” resorts in Switzerland can be found online

And in some news I have read that the snow is not too much this year or something. So I wonder If I would find snowy areas for late March. I will be from 26 till 30 at interlaken and surroundings
