I've been working through your videos over the last 2 days, I've been to Zurich before but going to Interlaken in 4 weeks time and your videos have been so helpful. Good to see that a new video has just dropped, look forward to hearing your thoughts on October when the video progresses!
Visiting this weekend! From Malaysia. Been watching your videos for a few months. Thanks so much for the tips, looking forward to enjoying my time there!

We’re planning to visit Switzerland on December. Can’t wait to spend our Christmas in your beautiful country😊
We have just returned from a two weeks vacation in Switzerland and the weather was perfect. We had Lucerne as base for visits to Rigi, Pilatus, Titlis, Stanserhorn, Stoos (26 august-2 sept) then Grindelwald for visits to Grindelwald First, Schilthorn, Jungfraujoch, Lauterbrunnen, Wengen, Murren (3 sept-9 sept) and Zurich (10-11sept). Every morning we checked the local weather websites and the webcams showing our desired destination. Even if there were clouds up on the mountains, they moved very quickly (10-20 minutes). My general advice to anyone going to Switzerland is to research and plan thoroughly beforehand. A vacation in a mountain destination where you have a maze of gondolas, funiculars, trains, cable cars and boats requires more planning and research then a simple city trip, in my view. Skipping this research step may result not only in a less satisfied experience but also in increased costs, in a quite expensive destination as Switzerland. Thank you Alexis and Louis for your videos, they were extremely helpful for our research. We will definitely return to Switzerland and in the meantime we will keep watching your videos and dreaming of our next visit.

Great info on when to visit Switzerland.
We will be there this coming dec 22 to 27🙏thanks for this very informative video!
the best Swiss guides around
Just spent 4 days in Switzerland during the last week of August (2022) and it was great. Sunny Weather, got to swim in Lake Zurich. A friend in Zurich gave us a good tour of the city and that was big plus. We tried Kunh Bakery by Albisriederplatz which we enjoyed for a quick and affordable breakfast. Also visited Luzern, Bern, Thun, Schwarzsee and passed by some small towns which I enjoy because is the 'Path less traveled'. I have to say regional train service is a bit pricey (Swiss Francs) but efficient and on time. I watched several of your videos before traveling there and many of your tips are very good. I'd recommend doing a review on the smaller towns of Switzerland which there are many to discover and are away from the most popular areas; but that's what I like, to find those trails that even the locals don't visit often. 🙂 To close the Trip we took the EuroCity 313 train that goes to Milan via the Gotthard Tunnel. It was fantastic. Next time I visit I want to explore the Geneva area.

I went hiking May 30 - June 2 this year and it was perfect! Gorgeous sunny mornings and zero crowds at Matterhorn, Oeschinensee, and Grindelwald. Some days cloudy in the afternoon but thats when we relaxed at the spas after hiking and they were very cheap :)

During the winter month, you may have _thermometer inversion_ ( _stratus_ ) on the Plateau. It may be quite depressing as the sunshine above the cloud (800-1200 m) and it's cold, humid and dull under. Last year we had this phenomenon for 6 weeks around October/November.

Alexis and Louis, thank you for your videos! They are as useful as they are entertaining. My wife and I have already made plans to spend the month of April next year. We reserved a place in Villeneuve for the entire month. In addition we'll be staying in Spiez during the third week. I really want to visit Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald, Murren during that week. You said some things about rail closures during April. Do you think this will be a big problem for us? Also, I am trying to decide whether a Swissrail Pass or a half-fare pass would be best for us. I owe you a cup of coffee, at least. How can I do that? Mike
@TheTravelingSwiss
Жыл бұрын
Hi there! Half fare pass would be perfect since you’re here for a month. You can buy that card here: www.sbb.ch/en/leisure-holidays/inspiration/international-guests/swiss-halffare-card.html The harderkulm will be open in Interlaken (from mid April), jungfraujoch is open all year, etc. You’ll be able to access all of those villages as well. You may have some specific mountain gondola/ railway closures, but those tend to start opening back up in mid April. Enjoy your travels!
Hello Alexis and Louis . Great info. Kindly guide how is weather this year now. Visiting may 19 to 27 so what can we expect this year. Kindly guide regarding current situation and is it possible for visiting griendelwald and murren and any view can we expect around these regions
Thank you. Darn. I am not a foodie and November is the month.
Very nice video. We are planning to come from 21st to 27th October and want to see snow atleast on the top of the mountains and views from there. This year's heat wave had been very bad for the glaciers so is it true guys that we won't get to see good snow if we visit that time ? Also is that time usually a lot rainy or bad time to come ?
Nice guide. Helpful for I plan to go to switzerland in different seasons. I'll start with this October trip with some friends. Sooo excited after 3 years of not travelling. Keep going guys! Please can you make a comprehensive guide on grocery prices in switzerland coz I would stay in an apartment and cook.

If I’m just visiting Zurich and some of the mountains (to look at snow and not skiing), would March be ok to visit with less rain? I heard you mentioned April have more rain?
Hello, my cousin is coming in the mid of October. Usually the weather is fine then. But THIS year it's much sooner cold than usually.. and the first snow fall on the alps already happened once. Currently it is just 1 - 3 Degree on the mountains.. At the moment it is rainy, clowdy, fogged and ugly...

Hi, i’m planning to travel solo to city area in november. Would it be better to stay at a hotel or a hostel or an airbnb?🤗
We’re arriving in Zurich this coming Saturday and are also concerned with the amount of rain forecast by The Weather Channel through Sept 18. AccuWeather’s forecast, which I believe follows the a Euro model a bit more, is a little drier. Swiss Meteo is typically Swiss-conservative and only forecasts six days ahead. All of that said, maybe you guys can post an emergency episode titled, ‘What to do in Switzerland When It’s Raining and the Great Views Are Hiding’ 😁
