Ойын-сауық

I have 9 books on my TBR for March, these are the books I hope to read in March. Some were the books on my February TBR, which I didn't get to.
March sees a number of Booktube events, the BIGGEST being March of the Mammoths, in which we are encouraged to read books of over 800 pages.
I made a video on the advantages of reading big books: • Why read a Mammoth? (A...

Thanks for stopping by, the mammoths will be a challenge because of their length.

Hi Jim, thank you for participating in March mystery madness. I am cohosting this year and we are celebrating Janelle of too fond of Books who we lost last year as you know. I used to read Sara Paretsky in the 80s and I like her very much. Wonderful March plans! Aloha.

Sara Paretsky's style is still much the same, now her PI V I Warshawski is older (late forties) and there are new developments in crime solving like DNA and access to the internet and phone records... but she still has the same people around her like downstairs neighbor, Salvatore "Sal" Contreras, who is in his eighties in the more recent books. I have read about 10 of the books in the series, there are at least 21.... I like the character Paretsky has created in V I Warshawski.

@@jimsbooksreadingandstuff I should continue reading a series. Have you read Sue Grafton to the end?

@@MarilynMayaMendoza I read a couple in her alphabet series. These days I like to read many different authors. In the crime genre there are so many great women writers like Ruth Rendell, Rachel Lynch, Kathy Reichs, Mo Hayder etc...

@@jimsbooksreadingandstuff Ruth Rendel is my favorite mystery author and I'm reading three books of hers for MMM. I don't get along with Kathy Reichs for some reason. Happy reading. Aloha.

Good luck with Cryptonomicon. Honestly I found that book quite bad. So many pages, and so much stuff that didn't need to be in there. And the characters sucked as well. But maybe you'll have more fun with it than I did. XD
