This really yielded an eclectic batch of books! I am not on Goodreads (I'm trying out Storygraph this year) but I do read reviews there sometimes. The Perelin Decline sounds interesting; I've never heard of that one. The round up of the worst was entertaining, too!

Pae Veo who wrote the Perelin Decline was a Booktuber for a while and produced amazing videos, his channel was called "Attention!" I have read quite a few books by Booktubers, his was my favorite. I've been using Goodreads a long time (I think since 2011), I am a creature of habit and despite its many problems, I have stuck with it and haven't joined the diaspora moving across to Storygraph.

I've done this before and the results were...interesting. Part of my problem was that I had included the books I had read to my kids, and those were overly represented.

Kids tend to be less discerning when rating books, or even adults, who read the books as kids tend to view the books more favorably than what they read as adults. The ratings have many quirks like that. I also think classics like Moby Dick forced on kids at school who hated it, account for its relatively low ranking, we tend to prefer what we choose to read than what we have to read.

It’s definitely and interesting idea to look up and then read the top 10 best rated books on goodreads… I might do that as a challenge because some of those would usually be a NOPE for me but why not give it a go, yeah? Gotta be adventurous in some way of another 😂❤

The best rated books on Goodreads might be the end of a series. With the Harry Potter books for example the last book is the most highly rated. The idea of this video was to look at the book you had already read and logged on Goodreads to see which were the highest rated.

@@BookwormAdventureGirl Pae's book is incredible, my favorite by a fellow booktuber. I first saw this idea on Jack Edwards channel but then I saw that you, Criminolly and many other booktubers had tackled this theme and it intrigued me.
