If you want to read a fun novel by Anthony Trollope, that's 800 pages long, I would recommend "The Eustace Diamonds". It's the 3td book in the Palliser series, but it can be read as a stand-alone novel. I read it on Project Gutenberg and had no idea that it was 800 pages long while I was reading it, because it's such an entertaining read that it doesn't feel like a mammoth book.

Anthony Trollope has so many wonderful stand alone novels. Please check out Goodreads for the list because as you will find out many of them are rated at least 4 stars. Wilkie Collins used to be my favorite male Victorian author until I started my Trollope reading journey. He is my favorite now. I have a feeling that you will really like his work Jenny.😊

My plan is to read Jonathon Strange and Mr Norell. But like you it may all change March 1st. Right now I am finishing up The Way of Kings reread. I have been going back and forth with Cassandra Clare. I haven’t read anything from her probably because I am a bit intimidated by how many books she has for her world

If you decide to read a shorter Trollope stand alone, I highly recommend Dr Wortle’s School.

I only discovered March of the Mamouths a few weeks ago and decided to take part. I am reading M Son of the Century by Antonio Scurati about Mussolini. It's just shy of a mammoth at 773 pages but I am counting it; @Shellyish recommended it. I think it was her No.1 of 2022. It is a very readable book.

I always have a contentious time with Dickens. 😀It could be a really good excuse to tackle some of the longer books sitting on my shelf. I would like to read 'The Count of Monte Cristo' or maybe restart 'Vanity Fair' which I enjoyed but didn't get around to finishing. Or there's 'The Eighth Life' by Nino Haratischvili. I didn't know how long that one was, until it arrived through the post, I took one look at the length of it and it's sat on the shelf ever since. 900 pages+

'He Knew He Was Right' is excellent but @Oxford World's Classics - what were you thinking....just update the cover and keep the original typesetting ...?!

It’s my favorite event 🦣 I’ve read 2 already this year. Les Miserables and The Eighth Life. I absolutely loved both of them 😊 I’m reading A Column of Fire by Ken Follett and so excited about it! Oh and The Empire of the Vampire is fantastic but not anything like Interview, which I loved also.

Some great options there. I'm not into YA, but hearing it's Edwardian YA caught my attention... I want to get Anna Karenina behind me, so I'm not even going to consider anything else. Well, I started Pickwick Papers for Katie Lumsden's Dickens read through. I'm about five books behind on that now...

Anthony Trollope sounds great. I only 1 book left in Barchester series. I've really enjoyed them all minus The Warden:)

A mammoth to me is over 500 pages. I'm reading one with that now. Just started it. That can go for my mammoth. It is a continuation of Febregency. I call it March to the Regency. Maria Edgeworth's Helen.

I tend to read at least one big book per month, so that should count in this challenge 😂 I'm buddy-reading Les Miserables for March month and I'm excited about it. Love your potential picks and hope you end up enjoying whatever you eventually choose.

I read EotV last year and really enjoyed it. Vampires are scary and kristoff writes them that way. Haven’t read any of the others on your list! Happy reading! I’m trying to bust out Mask of Mirrors and Deadhouse Gates for my mammoth books. Thanks for your videos

What actually happens in reality is another thing 😆. I say go with COThorns! 🤓💚😊

Why not The Way We Live Now by Trollope? It's a little bit longer than He Knew He Was Right, but is a standalone, is often considered his best single novel, and has heaps of contemporary relevance, with a decidedly Trump-like figure at its core. The book you're considering, by contrast, has a fairly middling reputation.

I’m still dithering over my mammoth 🦣! It’s between The Goldfinch and Barker’s bio of the Brontës. I’m re-reading He Knew He Was Right at the moment. It’s very forward thinking about mental illness, but the couple involved get tiresome after a while. Fortunately there’s some wonderful side stories going on and include a fantastic old lady who lights up every scene she’s in. Also a clergyman who has an interesting courtship journey. It’s easy to read and some parts are hilarious.
