marbled salamander (Ambystoma opacum) transfer to new enclosure
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
Two adult males and one adult female are being transferred from an indoor enclosure to an outdoor enclosure.
Marbled salamanders can't swim, but their larvae need water, so they lay their eggs in dry lake beds where the eggs will be submerged once the lake is filled by seasonal rains. The outdoor enclosure has an area of coconut fibre which slopes down to a flat muddy region, and hopefully the flat muddy region will look like a lake bed to the marbled salamanders. The temperature drop from being moved outside should also help to trigger breeding.

Nice :) Do you keep them outside all year round now? Would they be alright living in an outside enclosure (considering I live in South East England?
