If you want a custom map in Transport Fever 2 the new custom map editor gives you a huge amount of freedom to experiment. If you want to import a real world heightmap or share your map creations with friends this map editor tutorial will get you started. This will even help if you just want to tweak a randomly generated map in Transport Fever 2.

    Now THAT is going to be absolutely brilliant. I have longed for that kind of in game map generation in TPF. I am ADDICTED to creating my own maps and this will be hours and hours of fun even before I get into the game proper. Great video CF that has definitely sold me on getting TPF2!

    Editor pretty cool I spent a few hours recreating a UK and Ireland map came out pretty well

    One thing I am interested in finding out is, can you make all the train sets available on the startup screen or do you only have the ability to use one of them. Always a fan of running a Japanese Shinkansen next to a decrepit old sprinter through the English countryside. Or is this a mod waiting to happen. Ignore this, it was answered in part one of main series and yes you can have all 3 switched on. Won't delete it in case anyone else has same question.

    Just a note or two, once you have industries on the map if you try to repopulate them again with a different seed it will remove and replace the industries but there is a bit of road left behind everytime. If you change the map seed after placing the industries the industries will be left on the block of land they were on ie if they were on a raised bit of land in my case it left a flat hill with sheer cliffs around them the exact shape of the industry/road and only way to change it is with the smoothing tool etc..

    For using custom maps, is it the same as for TF... or just save the file as .png, import and TF2 does the rest?

    Hi! have you worked out the deal with the huge debt you rack up at the end of the map building? Can it be avoided? When I later load the map to start a new free game I have all those 'infrastructure costs' from the map editor sucking up all my income. 😥

    It's not debt. That's just costs - editing costs cash but the editor is always with infinite money.

    Ah, right, prompted to look again at my own map. Yes, it is just the initial cost of the infrastructure and doesn't appear to have any affect on the ongoing finances. Though, it still strikes me as weird/pointless that those costs appear for a user built map but not for one that the game generates automatically. Thanks for replying. 👍

    @@colonelfailure I absolutely counted them all, several times just to make sure, it's possible the maximum changes based on land area

    Load the game, then start a fresh free play game and enable the sandbox mod (+ symbol, Midway down the right side of the advanced screen).

    I did notice that my editor has no Island slider, and was wondering if you knew why they removed it? ….LATER....I answered my own question, its the Tropical switch, geez they don't think islands can be in the other zones too?..... I guess it is a good thing, talking to yourself... :).

    They're a part of the game since the original Fever. Basically they're the route the AI uses between towns. If you remove them, the AI is unhappy and flashes its "don't do that" light at you.

    Kai Gaming you can set numbers for desired growth for RCI : minimum being 50, max 800
