The new game punishes all of the colonel's usual habits. This should be an interesting series. xD

I'm in love with how they upscaled the cities. That was the one thing I hated about TPF, how even in big cities, a big train station would basically take over half the city. Connecting close cities via train didn't even make sense because the trains would be longer than the gap between the stations. I hope this isn't just a wrong impression on my side, but it looks like they really worked on that.

the best thing to me is the map editor, and that you have the ability to place cities so close together that they eventually develop into 1 giant super city. my biggest disappointment is the lack of curved or flexible stations (would have loved flexible ones, would have taken and been happy with just the basic curved ones that urban games later added to TPF 1) so its back to straight stations only. i do hope Modders will be able to implement flexible stations quickly.

@@LodewijkVrije Yeah, being able to make big cities by just plopping multiple cities together will be amazing. I think it could be really cool to make one massive city and have trains running inside the city to connect the different "districts", with buslines within the "districts".

@@LodewijkVrije I suspect there will be an Urban Games mod on game release for curved stations, or at least soon after...

The game *DOES* track it, the "cheating" is listed as *Other* in the "bank window". :)

-to produce 1 food the factory needs 2 grain, that train will never come back full. -you can find waypoints where roads are -you can deliver products to a factory without needing to bring back the produced goods (unlike tf1), that won't stop the production

Excited for the new series! The new building/station system is going to take some getting used to - eg: you can place the truck station first, then attach the train station onto the back. Look forward to seeing the new designs (and mistakes ;) ) that brings about :P

That is a GREAT idea, to put 3 cities "inside" each other, as one huge capital city. It solves needing a different city to deliver different products to, and it solves the semi-limited growth a single city can reach. Furthermore those cities will mutually grow naturally, since as one grows, the other gets more "destinations" in the growth tab. I think im gonna do this as standard practice in my future sessions, plonk double-cities here and there, as indicators of major cities. Thanks for the inspiration Mr. Failure.

What I like about the new game is how resources and demands follow a similar system to how it works in Railway Empire...allowing for a bit more structure to where you need to connect to due to the requirements of your cities

Hello Colonel Failure! I am General Flunky he he he. I love your Tropical map and have joined in to follow your ideas and I have also experimented with some ideas of my own. As I am a newbie (for the most part) I have made a few blunders but all in all it has been a great time with this map! Thanks for your hard work. i bought transport fever 1 not knowing that tf2 will release after 1 week but im happy since its on sale until my birthday

Transport Fever 2 looks very good. I hope they will introduce some of the buildings from Railroad Tycoon 3 as well like the hotel and restaurants with bonuses on amount of people transfer to other lines and increase range at which passengers will travel to.

I've fallen for the transport fever as well lately. This game is so atmospheric and pretty. A great upgrade from the previous game.

Yay! New series! The KZread compression isn't working well with the all the grass :( Maybe try turning it off for an episode to see if the game looks better after compression.

Love the videos and just got TF2 so very new to it. Ive got a station in my town that highlights in White all the buildings I need to serve. Do I need truck stops as well or will stuff just get distributed from the station?

Love watching CF play, as always. Watching this has convinced me to cancel my pre-order. Just not enough of an improvement on ver 1.

This game is very appealing.

Thanks for a great video. One improvement that I think you can make in your strategy is as follows. Remember you are starting the game at the bottom of the level of everything - your empire, the town development etc. The towns already have jobs. Before expanding industry the demand would be stronger on passenger transportation to those pre-existing jobs/employment. I would start with passenger transportation (buses/coaches) to ensure my business empire survives past the gruelling (and really high risk) startup times. Love your approach also but for me, it encumbers too much unnecessary risk for such an early time in the life cycle of a business empire. Thank you so much for reading.

That's going to be nice. Bridges got expensive in the early game in TF.

Can you add multiple engines to increase engine power. Maybe a way to calculate which locos would be useful as double headers.

Graphics where very promising

Hey colonel, Just a tip cos im pretty sure it works When you are buying vehicles instead of clicking the blue buy button 5 time, Trying changing the quantity to 5 then you only click the blue button once (to the left of the blue buy button) 😊

19:00 im also running at 1/4 date time, the only problem conceptually is that everything ingame, every graph, every tooltip and every chart that says "Annually", now actually means "Every 3 months / quarter". But, fair enough.

There are mods for TF1 that sorta excused that, by making special truck drop-off points. They're very nice. :)

Probably not, I would assume it will be worse since they upped the graphics usage. It will likely depend on your computer
