Yet they refuse to tour outside of the Eastern European festival circuit. The guy who books Download Festival in the UK said that he has often tried to get Manowar on the bill but they just refuse to do it. This from a band who put out an album called 'Hail To England'. I guess those Slovenian county fairs are just that lucrative.

As metal as it gets. been a fan since the beginning. No other band even comes close. Other bands play, MANOWAR kills.

Underrated, yes, especially by magazines in general that never had the BALLS to forget REVENUES and COMMERCIAL interests and state the TRUTH: that Eric Adams is a VOICE LEGEND!

This was on July 23rd of 2005, Manowar headlined the Earthshaker Fest 2005. This performance was a unique historical event as it included a grand finale featuring Manowar members past and present on stage as one powerful, heavy metal legion, as well as an epic set up with a 200-piece choir and orchestra. The majesty and emotion of this event and the overwhelming reaction of more than 25, 000 fans in attendance serves as a fantastic example of the preeminence that Manowar embodies. Also they held the Guinness World Record twice for being the loudest band in the world.

This is the most impressive live video I’ve seen in a long time. I’ve heard of Manowar but have never listened to them. All I have to say is that these musicians are phenomenal, guitar solos off the hook, the drums are being beaten like they owe money, and those Harley Davidson‘s on the stage. That is complete 🔥 🔥🔥🔥🔥

OMG former bandmembers reunited and Ross the Boss play the solo. I think he havent been Into Manowar since the 80s

it really was a great show, foundly remember joe being pissed by the bass drums not being equal in loudness and making the band do a small soundcheck on stage after there intro set. It was such a fuckfest of misshaps. Bass amps blown robbing us of a bass solo song. All cut from the DVD :P But on the other hand, I've first seen Loudness from Japan on the festival, they were so great.

It was my first time seeing Manowar, so freaking awsome as a 16 year old boy. It was so mind blowing, I get emotional every time I see this. I also can remember the speech of Joey, claiming Richard Wagner the first prrson who would play havey metal 😅. Epic shit

There is no metal more metal than Manowar! I've been waiting for this one way too long. Now is the time for the most epic song in the history of music Achilles Agony And Ecstasy In Eight Parts ... there is (and most likely) never will be anything more epic than this song

Iced Earth - Dante's inferno Nightwish - Poet And The Pendulum Celesty - Legacy of Hate pt. 1, 2 and 3 Theocracy - The Mirror Of Souls Ayreon - Day That The World Breaks Down and most likely I forgot something else :) I love Snowy Shaw :)

That was 2005 in Geiselwind/Germany.... -Manowar was Headliner and Nightwish was "Supporter" with Tarja Turunen on her last Live-Shows with the Band :-D

It was 1989 and i was 13. Bought this album in the used bin at our local record shop. Heard this song and became an instant fan. One of the best metal songs created.

eric adams is legend! tihs is a dream come true: their most epic song played by all members, right on time the reunion,cause sadly drummer scott columbus died not much time before

im a bit younger then the most Manowar fans and scotts death was the first death of a musician i really liked :( i still remember the exact day

Val Halla is a masterpiece. Secrets of Steel is so fun to sing I sing it to this day since the 80's. Manowar is astounding.

In case no one told you wonderful people, this song originally came out in 1982. 😵😁 Travis, Joey's bass is a very unusual custom job, an 8 string picollino bass made in the 80's. 🎸😏

I see them in Portugal in the Arena and i was not listening for 2 weeks! Manowar is to be enjoy on open air because of the level of sound they play. Manowar = Heavy metal family

Yes...that bass guitar has a longer neck, it is a six string "Piccolo Bass" and has all the drivers, distortions, compressors there are...it is actually the base for all their songs, I mean what you hear and thought was the guitar..well it is not because it's the bass...intros, rhythm riffs and a lot of solos on their songs comes from the bass and not a guitar...basist Joe DeMaio is his name and it always been that way...he's the boss. Long time drummer Scott Columbus seen on this video passed a few years back, it was a blow to the others...Well thanks for this amazing video, if you are going to get introduced to Manowar then this is the one along with "Warriors of the World"!!!

Yeah, this is Epic! I bought this vinyl when I was in my teens and still listen sometimes. Unfortenally hasn't the singer Eric Adams his incredible voice power, in his glory years, he was a beast. One of the best metal singers all time. I ve seen them live twice, unfortenally not this consert

Manowar are a bit gimmicky, a bit goofy, a bit too more-of-the-same-y for my taste - but man they're fucking great at what they do. And in his prime Eric Adams certainly was in my top 5 metal vocalists, that guy was a freaking beast. His screams were damn awesome. And Joey DeMaio is a killer bassist. Seriously, listen to Sting Of The Bumblebee. So damn good. It warms my heart to see Ross Friedman on stage with them, I never liked that they kicked him out and how. I really liked his playing. And last, but certainly not least: RIP Scott Columbus

They were never the same after Ross The Boss left. Shankle was too "shreddy" and Logan was average(plus all his personal crap)

Take time and watch their Magic Circle concert from 2008,..Manowar in best light..Eric is uniqe metal vocal..they play concert in Bulgaria for their fans 5 hours..btw you two make great reaction for Manowar,my favorite band,excpecially your reaction for 3 drummers..THANK YOU..YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL..

hello from Greece guys i love your reactions so as a 44 years old fan and former singer i will sujest mostly the early years so dark avenger(with the humongus Orson Welles) the secret of steel,gates of valhala,blood of my enemies,bridge of death,kill with power, thor,guyana (this song talks about jim jones a cult leader he led to mass murder - suicide with cyanide 909 people 304 was children in Jonestown Guyana) defender(again with Orson Welles) mountains,heart of steel,hail and kill,kingdome come and more. also you have to know that they earn twice the record guinnes as the band with the louder and cleanest sound in the world and another record in one concert they played for five hours. they have the most loyal fans. i can say more but i allready feel like i give intervew for a job. stay safe

Epic version. The drummer in the middle Scott Columbus died in 2011. The blond guitarist Karl Logan aka Karl Mojaleski was thrown out in 2018 after his house was raided and they found child pornography in his PC. Worst case he will get 25 years in prison. Today there is only founding members Joey DeMaio and Eric Adams in the band with touring members E V Martel on guitar and former Malmsteen drummer Anders Johansson

Hav,nt heard this for years,I still have the vinyl I bought way back in 82.

Formed in the early 80s, and hailing from Auburn, New York, Manowar are still around - though a shadow of what they were. Bassist and principal song writer Joey De Maio was actually a pyrotechnics supervisor/technician for Black Sabbath during the Heaven and Hell days with Ronnie James Dio on vocals. This song is the title track of their debut album "Battle Hymns", and one of their best songs/albums to this day. All the drummers and guitarists were members of the band at one point - with the middle drummer Scott Columbus now deceased. The other drummers are Kenny Earl "Rhino" Edwards on the left, and Donnie Hamzik on the right. Guitarists are Karl Logan - who is now a convicted felon for downloading child abuse materials (he plays the third solo), David Shankle (second solo) and Ross "the Boss" Friedman - one of the founding members of the group and first soloist. Eric Adams has been singer all the way through the bands 40 plus year career, and he is still killing it.

Manowar are the Kull of Metal. Others may come after them but even if they aren't the deepest or most complex the are the truest form of metal that exists and they will never be unseated from their throne. By this axe they rule!

I believe Joey's bass has a 35" scale, and the strings are about the same distance from each other as the strings on a Les Paul guitar. The bass was designed to be played with a pick.

The neck of Joey DeMaio's bass isn't unusually long but it's unusually narrow. He has the string spacing the same as it would be on a normal guitar. His basses look like they have Banjo necks grafted onto them.

I got to see them live in the town I live in at a bowling alley in 84 I think. At the time they where almost an unknown but GOD did they RULE!!!!! I was one of a few that knew some of the songs. I just got into them and only had 2 of their albums at the time. Eric has always been my idol for vocals. There have only been a few that I wish I could sound like and the main 2 are Eric and Dio.

Hi family, that bass guitar harm is unusual, just a few bass player use that size in Heavy Metal, Normaly the bass player from Soul or Blues used. Joey DeMaio always used that black bass, with that harm size \m/
