"He can't handle your speed, son." Though it doesn't appear in this video as it just shows the rounds themselves, this line from Freddie is so endearing, it's emotional. The way he calls Manny "son", he says it with the warmth that an actual father would say to their son. Amazing relationship between true kings.

Manny has said in interviews that he sees Freddie as a father figure, and he's been his adviser in and out of the ring. The fact that they remained partners for over fifteen years cements that.

@@LifeOfRy United by fate it seems, too. When Pacquiao departed the Philippines for America, despite being a former flyweight and contemporary bantamweight world champion, no promoter was willing to take him in. But when he walked into Freddie's gym and asked to drill the mitts with him, Freddie immediately took a shine to the kid who would be conqueror. What sets Freddie apart from most trainers is that other coaches would've readjusted Manny's fighting style, as he lacked many of the fundamentals in boxing. Roach, however, is the kind of guy who hones and refines nuances into effective tools for his fighters to use. That's exactly what he did for the PacMan, and they only got better and better from there.

@@Bankai_Musashi1 No, Oscar was old, and he was dehydrated to the bone. Manny was young and in his prime, so it was much easier for a young person to go up in weight than an older person to drop down in weight. Especially an older veteran, like Oscar, who hadn't fought at 147 in seven years. It was simply a bad decision for Oscar to take this fight. Oscar's skills were on the decline, while Manny was hitting his prime. Then for Oscar to have to lose all of that weight was just too much for him. The weight cut made him extremely slow, and it made him look like an old, old man.

Manny never fought at 140 or 147 at that point so that excuse doesn't matter either way. Oscar was never highly impressive speed wise, he had a bit of speed but that's it. Funny how NOBODY said any of this before the fight happened, lol, the fact is that Manny jumped 2 weight classes to beat a taller, longer & bigger Oscar who fought at 160 at one point & he dominated him start to finish, though Oscar was washed

@@Bankai_Musashi1 It was an impressive win by Manny, but let's not pretend that he fought a prime Oscar because, even you admitted that Oscar was washed at that point. Oscar was so washed at that point that he just retired because he knew he didn't have it anymore. He did not even bother to go back up in weight to continue fighting. Bottom line: An impressive win by Manny, but it was a win over the worse version of Oscar Delahoya.
