I hear you, but why are they fascinated by them? Because the journey they took to become the clubs they are. Football is theatre and the story is a big part of it. 😂 How is it suddenly different for City? 1. Everybody knew that the Glazers takeover of United was immoral and would destroy United, but the PL board (read other clubs chairmen, including City’s) let it happen anyway because it was in their interests, there was no “fit & proper” rule back then, only introduced after they let that happen. 2. United had natural wealth (just like the “mainstream reds” of Liverpool and Arsenal) due to their much much larger fanbase, a result of the successes these clubs built through hard work, innovation and talent in the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s etc. so yes they spent their money that they generated through their club’s revenue generated by their much larger fanbase, i.e. not oil/blood money/sugar daddy handouts and blatantly fake over-inflated sponsorship deals. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. That’s why everybody hates City. So when you get your decision on the 115 charges, either count your lucky stars that money talks, OR take your punishment on the chin and stop whinging.

There not, there designed to stop clubs from recklessly spending and going bust. Let's say city get slapped with these 115 charges and gets sent to league two, do you think the sport washing propaganda state is sticking around with them in league two? No they won't they'll leave them in the dumps, pull the plug on then, then city will be stuck with massive bills a club of their size can't pay without the over inflated sponsorships. What do you think will happened to city then? The club will fold, and won't exist anymore. Simon Jordan's theory of law and judgement: If a lower court finds an individual or corporation guilty but that judgement is reversed by a higher court, the original verdict remains. UEFA CFCB found City guilty but the CAS exonerated City due to lack of evidence. Therefore, according to Simon's theory, the original judgement stands hence, City are guilty.

100% mate, a point I'd have loved Jay to make. Jordan makes out that we were guilty just because Uefa said so but CAS overturned the guilty verdict. So he's saying that Uefa know more than the courts, then on another day he miscalls Uefa for its running of football but it doesn't suit his narrative with City. So PL say we're guilty of 115 charges and even if the courts find us not guilty and throw the charges out then according to Jordan we are still guilty just because the PL said so. Every day the 115 charges are brought up by White and Jordan at some point. Mention City and I say to myself "here it comes...."

I think the real pertinent statement was in rebuttal to City being cheats and the fact that those rules City supposedly broke to become cheat, the other clubs hadn't been abiding by for over 100 years, and were invented by our direct rivals pretty much as soon as City got bought. I don't really care if City broke the rules if those rules were invented by United, Liverpool, Arsenal etc etc to try and keep a leash on teams contending with them. THAT's corruption. That's cheating. That's what's hurting the sport. Look at what it's doing to Everton, people only care about City because they've actually proven to be smart with it. Everyone is pitiful towards Everton who've spent insane amounts, just very poorly, so they're not a threat, fans don't care. Ergo, they don't actually care about clubs spending a bunch, as long as it doesn't disrupt their mafioso at the top.

Well said, everyone seems to be in agreement with Jay too. Or Jim would say 'It's not just me that's saying it talkSport a large proportion of your listeners are saying it' . I'm surprised they allowed this one to go on youtube because he's echoing what many football fans have said at some point up and down the country. How can it be that this is the first time a caller has pulled them up on this. He could have mentioned Arsenal in the 30s too, the first club to earn the nickname 'bank of england club'. It was 8 years Liverpool spent fading into insignificance in Div2 and they bough 25+ players overall in a very short space of time and their own club reps admitted it, without Eric Sawyer and the Littlewoods money he brought with him, their rise wouldn't have happened. Also should have told Simon CAS told UEFA their not so independent arbitration findings were unfounded, that they lacked the evidence for their guilty convictions for everything that was covered. So to continue saying City were found guilty disingenuous, since that was not the end of the story by any stretch of imagination. But I realise that would have opened up another debate and he had a limited time before they would try and get rid of him(especially when you're making sense, winning the argument and calling them out correctly).

This caller is spot on. I have no dog in this fight, but I love football. Because I love football, I love watching the best teams play the beautiful game. Man. Quick fact. Uefa didn't charge City with 2 thirds of the charges the PL has because they thought there was nothing in them. also CAS cleared City of most of the others. The CEO of the PL was interviewed by Utd and Liverpool before being given the job. All these statements are easily found to be verified online.

The thing is the Red Cartel know our owners could buy and sell them. They have been in charge for years, their influence with the PL is verging on criminal. i mean, no one is saying they didn't spend lots of money...but they also didn't try to fudge their numbers by making up sponsorship deals and paying managers under the table and all manner of other dodgy stuff like City have done to try to maximise their income and minimise their outgoings to be able to do more within FFP.

Fact is until the case around the 115 charges has been heard and city come up with concrete proof they haven't circumnavigated the rules they will always face these accusations. The fact they had stalled on the UEFA case being heard and are trying to do the same with the current case does not scream innocence. I can't speak for utd but the Liverpool argument to make the connection between what they spent in the 50s/ 60s and compare it to city's spending is ridiculous, it's apples and oranges.
