I wluld try to get that hot supply line into the manabloc as vertical as possible. The lateral strain on the fitting lrpbably isnt helping.

With a limited room in a crawl space, this is the best I can do. The 90° bend supports are great, the connections at the top of the Bloc are very relaxed, not strained. All the houses I grew up in had full basements, but unfortunately I don't have one now. I have the lumps on my head to prove it. 😮

Why do you need those metal lines? Just another point of failure. Just run pex directly to the tank. You only need metal lines for the gas models as there is a heat from the exaust pipe.

From what i've read, most codes require at least 18” of metallic piping on any energy producing appliance. Personally, I think it's easier to use the flexible tubes, as 3/4" PEX is pretty stiff.

@bluesriderDF I guess codes differ so much in areas. Here I see many new electronic heaters connected directly and old use the 18 inch stand off. But all gas heaters connect directly with coper. Cuz with copper you run direct to the heater, pex is no different outside of external heat resistance, hence the need for metal to prevent melting from external heat pipe.

@@bluesriderDF i also had the understanding that this only applies to gas WH due to the flue. I don't think it matters for electric WH
