Man Who Dove Off Bridge to Save Baby ‘Didn’t Think Twice’

The hero who saved a toddler after she was ejected from a truck off a bridge said he didn't think twice about jumping into the water after her. The hero, identified only as Jonathan, spoke Friday at a press conference from a Maryland fire station. Authorities called him a “humble hero.” Jonathan initially said he wanted to remain anonymous, until he knew for sure that the baby was okay. One of the first responders to the scene told Inside Edition that he shook the hero's hand and thanked him. #InsideEdition

I agree. That's what gets me about hearing women brag all the time about women's "maternal instinct", being "Mama bears" etc. How many women would have jumped off that bridge to save their OWN baby, let alone someone else's?? Not many!!! Most would stand their screaming and yelling, "My BABY!!" at the men who were nearby, and pointing at their child until a man jumped in and saved it. LOL.

I'm not a father, and I'd have jumped in without question. There wasn't time to go to the end of the bridge and try to swim out to the baby!! Most women on the other hand... would be screaming for somebody to do something--which usually means, some MAN. Lol.

The jump was evidently 30 feet into a body of water with all kinds of potentially dangerous currents flowing through it. Your local high dive is three meters, so we're talking three times that, and so unless he belly flopped, which apparently he didn't, he had to swim a good ways back to the top before he could make the rescue. Nah... He doesn't need any award other than being able to pat himself on his back for the rest of his life, knowing that he's a badass with a giant set of brass balls. Yep. For guys like him, that's enough.

@@CharlieTheNerd91 I'm not sure the point of your comment. If your trying to be funny or take away from the heroics actions of this man. But I do not find it to be funny at all. He didn't have to jump in that water or even get out of his car or even care but he did. He saved a life. Not sure what was so funny to you, at all. His daughter was clearly touched by his actions and was scared at the same time. Children care about their parents so I am sure this little girl was worried cause children do not always understand the whole situation in the moment. But again I'm not sure the point of your comment.
