its jiu jitsu.... Gaining the "Mount position" is worth 4 points. Gaining the "Rear Mount position" is worth 4 points. "Passing the guard" is worth 3 points. "Takedown" is worth 2 points. "Knee-on-belly" position is worth 2 points. "Sweeps" are worth 2 points. Advantage points are given for submission attempts, which are used only for determining a tied match

This was a BJJ tournament. In Judo if you get pushed out of bounds you start from your feet. In BJJ you start from the ground, or whatever position you were in. They were both white belts, except the one guy had a few black stripes. A black belt in BJJ would eat a white belt. :)

what are you talking about? Jiu Jitsu came from Judo. It's when a few Judokas tried teaching the Gracies Judo and the Gracies thought about using their legs.

Good job man. Nice transition into the armbar. Keep up the training. As far as "why are they fighting each other"... I am sure she meant why are they in the same division. I am sure she was thinking they should be in a different bracket, either due to age or weight or some other specification. Think people...

People should listen more carefully. The "Why are they fighting comment" is someone wondering why the bigger guy is fighting the smaller one. Also, someone comments that no one showed in the blue belt division. One of these guys is a blue belt? Which one? And why doesn't he have it on? These are two white belts. Clumsy, awkward, but learning. There are lots of white belt videos on youtube that are equally as graceless. You have to start somewhere. .

White Gi could have tried a guillotine choke at around 39 seconds.. Neck was just there.. Waiting to be grabbed.. Grabbed the neck and pull to half guard.. Next time maybe...

i practiced jiu jitsu, and it was very fun, but unless you don't have ( really ) good skills, you wont be able to use it on the street efficiently. And this is a deadly art, most of it's attacks are related to break important bones, mostly arms, legs, and NECK.

  • @KimFu231

Im not sure, but i suppose this is Judo? a Japanese style of fighting wich uses no punches nor kick's, its about throws submission and armlocks and maybe something else, the fact it seems kinda slow, is cuz both of the competitors are white belts or so it seems and they still need to get alot of training, but in a couple of months, they should gain better fighting capabilities.

You guys... This is Jiu jitsu... They aren't supposed to fight as in punching and kicking, it's more "wrestling" and getting your person in a fetal position... The reason they arn't punching and kicking is because they don't want to do actual damage... but once in a fetal position, ANY PERSON, regardless of what martial art... is screwed... So the basics of fighting any Jiu jitsu expert = DON'T GET IN THAT POSITION, keep your distance.

I personally prefer making the guy cry uncle, instead of a ref counting to 3
