The guy's family yelling at the victims family is sick. They're defending a murderer, that alone shows a lack of empathy for human life. They deserve to feel that pain.

Rocking is actually a sexual thing too. Some people do it in situations when reminded or thinking about sexual encounters and psychologists say a lot of people who convicted of crimes with a sexual motive rock when reminded of their crimes. To me it shows he very much enjoyed what he did and deserves every moment he spends in jail. I used to not believe in the death penalty but for people who torture them murder I truly believe now they are evil.

Family should be loved unconditionally. But when a member of your family murders someone, and a pregnant woman no less, that love shouldn't persist. The family of the charged should feel ashamed they defended him.

Yeah I wouldn't defend a family member who committed a horrible crime, I know it sounds heartless but I would have no problem cutting them loose. Just because it's family doesn't mean you must love them and be on their side 100 percent of the time, there are times like these where you need to cut them off and never ever associate with them again.

@Dorkaholic They don't. This is psychotic behavior, and I mean that in the literal sense. Psychotics have severe impulse control problems and no empathy or remorse. Their brains aren't wired in the same cause/effect relationship as is the case with normal brains. It's not that they can't understand that they'll face consequences - but they don't get the autonomous nervous system anxiety and fear like normal people. In essence, they have no fear reflex when it comes to consequences. They'll regret the consequence once it comes, but they're incapable of feeling remorse.

finding balance is tough, the USA often is reasonably appropriate for punishing sadistic ass holes for life, but at the same time some people with petty drug crimes get wayyyy too much time and sometimes people get put in for life without adequate proof. I think possibly the correct balance would be IN BETWEEN the USA judicial system and the British judicial system. One is arguably too hard and one is too soft
