He's under house arrest because he's not able to run or hide anywhere and he is not a repeat offender nor is he a threat to himself or the public. He has not been convicted of anything so he is legally innocent until he confesses or a jury of 12 people decides otherwise. • @IHeartQuilting2

First of all, it isn't likely that this would be a murder 1 case as they have to prove premediation. Second, they have to have cause to keep him in jail until the trial - he is unlikely a threat to others in his current condition and not deemed a flee risk. If he died in jail pre-trial, his family could quite rightly sue the country for his death.

He worked with her husband Paul at the railroad yard. He had wounds on him at funeral. He was arrested but released. Crazy he was released! Police kept his bloody pants =able to know it was him with DNA testing. 💔🤔🧐🥺😢😪 Below copied & pasted; The Pretrial Fairness Act forces prosecutors to consider the age and medical condition of the defendant, so a judge released Barbier Thursday, under certain conditions. Barbier was a lead suspect in 1966, when detectives saw him at Snider's funeral, and noticed he had wounds. At the time, there was not enough evidence to charge Barbier, so he was released. The family is disappointed he'll remain free at home until the trial. Barbier is due back in court in Markham on May 21 for his next status hearing.
