He's under house arrest because he's not able to run or hide anywhere and he is not a repeat offender nor is he a threat to himself or the public. He has not been convicted of anything so he is legally innocent until he confesses or a jury of 12 people decides otherwise. First of all, it isn't likely that this would be a murder 1 case as they have to prove premediation. Second, they have to have cause to keep him in jail until the trial - he is unlikely a threat to others in his current condition and not deemed a flee risk. If he died in jail pre-trial, his family could quite rightly sue the country for his death.

Was it a blood type match or DNA match? If the former, I can understand (though don't like) that they don't have enough to hold him. If it's the latter, his health and age should have not factor in holding him in jail until the trial. DNA doesn't lie and he's been allowed to live free and clear for nearly 60 years.

Age and health should not matter. He should be made to stay in jail just like any other murderer. He has had a life while the one he took was cut short.

His age and health? If a person can receive life in prison for murder, why should their age and health be considered as justification for not locking them up? WTF???

Since the cops gave him a pass to be on the streets, the family should take street justice, and make him a missing person.

What a disgrace to the family to allow the killer to go free. WTH? He MURDERED a living human being, IT DOESN'T MATTER ABOUT HIS HEALTH. She is dead, NO MERCY. I can't believe he is just let go to resume his life. THE D.A. IS WRONG FOR ALLOWING HIM TO GO BACK HOME.

In another video the daughter said that 'people' always said he was the killer but there was no evidence, thanks to DNA and cops who were willing to look into the case it's been solved. Sounds like the police dropped the ball on this one and didn't revisit the case.

nice, he's foot loose and fancy free. Stabbed her 120 times but it was soooo long ago and he's never been caught at anything before or after this murder. So everything is ok.

She was stabbed to death more than 120 times?! Damn. It must have been bad enough being stabbed to death once, but being revived and killed again and again must have been really awful.

Poor girl, what a monster that man is. Slow justice is no justice.

So what exactly did the grandmother say that resulted in the case being reopened? Did she name the killer? What is the relationship between the grandmother and the alleged killer? Either I’m missing something or this report left out a lot of crucial details.
