No worries they do look ace though. Hey do you have any problems with the seatbelt ratcheting when you put the seat flat? I’ve just fitted my bracket and when I put it flat (or nearly flat) it starts to ratchet. Weird one!!

How easy was the Re upholstery part , looked tricky opening the seat cover

There's a definite knack to it. Opening was tricky, but once you see the z shape clip from the side, you get it straight away... Thanks for watching the channel!

Hi, thanks for making the video. I have the same issue and was going to spend £1000 on a single seat and £500 getting recovered + new base etc. Having seen this option I’m looking at doing the same but also fitting the lower base as my wife’s head is pretty much touching the roof on the current base. Vankraft do both bits. Is yours the lower or standard base? Thanks

Hi Just fitted our and as you say it’s a game changer. Thanks for your help as made the process very easy. 1 question did you have any issues with the seatbelt pulling out post fitting. Its now a bit temperamental.

@@craigfrood7710 Strange, I would check the fabric part of the belt, pull it right through, check it over make sure nothing is catching. Cant think of anything else...

Hi Paul, I think it was around an hour. I'm hopeless at DIY too! There's a plywood board template you can download and I'd defo recommend doing that bit too. Gives you a nice flat surface when you fold the seats. Cheers for watching. Kenny.

Does the seat still turn ok with the 10deg? Mine is already tight.

Yeah, you can always tilt it more if you need to, but I didn't have any major issues. I think getting it right into the corner to start helps.

Not 100% sure where you mean, but I think you mean the safety catch?

@@ScottishVanTrips yeah that’s probably it, the silver round turn screw on the front, is it just to lock it from folding it can you lock it into different upright positions

@@dickie35 Ah yeah, so thats a locking safety catch. It stops the seat folding when it's in the upright position so if you are in a crash it doesn't fold you in half!😂 You going to fit one? I have to say it makes a massive difference!

How easy does the seat swivel with the recline ?

@@stuartpenn933 I've not seen that! Sounds good. The good thing about the Kiravans base is you can use it for storage too. Probably the best storage in the van!

The angle is too much, had to take mine out. Please set your drivers seat to same angle and ask your passenger to test the angle. The instructions for a wooden back are poor and ill fitting. If you fit one of these brackets fold the seat flat before reclipping the cover and you'll see and feel a really sharp angle on the bracket each side of the centre spline. These WILL rip through your cover. Holed my cover after a couple of uses. Filing these angles round helped but it was only making a larger 3mm ply back ensuring it the covers these protrusions that has worked. I used a small self tap screw on each side if the seat to keep it in place. We measure the angle nearer 20 degrees, boy racers position. warning, the wood insert makes unclipping the cover even harder.

I've not tried the plywood backing so thanks for the heads up. I have to say I prefer the angle of the seats, the standard one on long journeys was awful.
