Will this get hard enough with cut stars instead of pressing? Could you use acetone in this to make the parlon the binder and use more of it by taking out the dextrin?

Acetone alone won't bind parlon alone very well. You'd need the solvent to include 5-10% of mineral spirit. If the compo had enough red gum, then it could be bound using acetone alone.

@@goodmaroI see that your formula contains parlon and dextrin. Parlon is insoluble in water and alcohol. Only acetone can be used. I want to know what solution you use to bond them?

@@Tronghoatroi If a formula contains dextrin, that's a good indication it was meant to be bound with water.
