How To Make Crossette Firework Stars
Ғылым және технология
Part 1?
I made and 3d printed a tool for making these types of fireworks. The stars almost worked, most of them failed and that's why this is probably the first part and there will be videos following because I want to perfect making crossettes.

Like Heller said, I would add some flash in the cavity. If you have some really fast fuse, you want to put that in the little pin-sized cavity so the flame gets into the center of the "burst" of the crossette. Having some flash in the cavity and wrapping a little tighter should result in a glorious break! You might try traditional methods of pasting the crossette too... using wheat/rice paste on the paper strip and pleating down the individual layers. This would help fireproof the break side of the crossette so fire cannot enter nor escape through that area and has to break. Another great thing about traditional pasting, is once it is dry, it shrinks a little bit and really conforms to the piece you are pasting very tightly. Just some thoughts for you!

Thanks, will keep this in mind next time when making crossettes
Perfect
The most difficult thing is to make its stars loose. Please make more videos about making stars and formulas and testing them. I live in the strictest country and many things are prohibited here, but I love your work. I am following and learning. You are great my friend. Thank you for helping me

Ah I understand now and yes it is hard getting perfect stars
The best that I saw was 1" diameter 1-1/2" long charcoal mix. There was no hole or fuse. He wrapped it with 2 turns of 30#. He added about a 1/8 teaspoon of 70/30 flash. Closed the end and glued it shut. Dipped the charcoal end in slurry, then 3f granulated. They needed to be really high.
Cool, love to see someone also sharing the printing files too. Can't wait for part 2. Also i would ad a half a gramm of falsh and made the paper thicker on it. It would help to break harder and bring the pices further.

@@pyro_chimera Hmm thats an unexpected result i think. We used to that falash is fast and dont have to even closed in too much but thats what is in intresting in home pyro. Finding a sulotion for these problems.

@@pyro_chimera I will print the file and try it out my self too. A planed to gett a tool for it and ist great that i can make some my self. The advice was just general pyro thinking. Hope to be able to help after trying it out. But i think i will go whit some color comp. Those could give better result i belive BP comps are not the easyest to gett right in crossets

Ok btw the parts need alot of sanding to be as smooth as possible. Tell me if it works
Hey I have done the same thing with great results! the only tip I can offer is to sand down the lobes a bit and then add thin superglue of lacquer to the surface and sand again. they should be nice and shiny. also, replace the fuse hole with a small brass screw that's been filed smooth while spinning it in a drill. its more robust and makes a more precise hole. the layer lines grip the powder and make extraction difficult. as for the filling, I add about .5g of slow booster flash. it gives a nice hard break that doesnt destroy the lobes

I don’t really have problems with smoothness or difficulty removing it with the second design of the pump, sanding it down does it for me. I cant seem to get the breaks right, when i add flash it has the jetting effect. Im going to experiment more with some different composition and maybe make the small pinhole a bit bigger.
A Lil mallet works a treat to compact the comp a bit more and the 1st one would have worked fine
I use a delving shaft with a bronze Crossett shape that spins and a 5 lb dead blow hammer and 2 whacks and it smooth as silk.

Stronger burst and less papier on sidewall. Try with Flash or Whistler mix.
Hello , nice homemade crossette🎉, what is your composition for your crossette? W49? Thanks

Its just blackpowder with extra charcoal and titanium
If your crossette stars has fail. That's ok. Maybe you'll make a better one.😊

very nice bro, pls composition
You need flash to really break those apart hard
