Hi Y'all,
So happy you're here. Today I'll be showing you how to make a costume for the Renaissance Fair on a budget. Also called the Renaissance Festival, Renfair, or Renfest. I did this all for about $20, and got 2 looks. The corset was created using a free corset pattern I found on Tik Tok. This video also shows how I did a thrift flip where I made a skirt from a dress I found at the thrift shop.
This diy costume is also great for a cottagecore fashion look. I would gladly wear this out and about :) history bounding, am I right folks?

Lovely corset but the highlight of this video was the story of how you rescued the kitty. I loved that you found him. I've only just seen this video, so you've probably named him by now, but a name I thought would suit him is.... REBEL :)

I love the kitty story too :) Now I've got a great story for those awkward "fun fact" intro ice breakers. We've actually named him Beanie since then! Don't ask why, I just all of a sudden looked at him and thought "You look like a 'Bean'. I shall call you Beanie"

@@astoldbybrittany4342 Beanie is a cute name :)
You are quite a talented seamstress! And this "Renaissance style" reminds me a great deal of the style of clothing we wore in my old home of Alaeria. 🌀💠🌟

Haha we ended up calling him Beanie. So sometimes I call him Beanie Weenie. But Gooney is still a great one.
(Marmalades are generally the sweetest tempered cats. Helpful, too, you see. I favor the old Apple Head Siamese, however, i have known two Marmalades, Apollo an Dexter, who both had lovely temperaments. A little on line research on Marmalades confirms, lovely temperament). Thank you for pattern and explanation ( I too have been invited to an R Fair! I needed something simple for an old woman, since i am going with niece and great-niece; your post helps. It is never too late! Can’t wait! )
I love your videos 💕 i just found out your channel

@@astoldbybrittany4342 Sweet no worries lol xD thank you so much!!!
Just popping in to say that it didnt measure at 14 inches, because its meant to cinch in the waist, meaning the measurment is smaller. you dont want it to measure exactly the same as you, it will not fit properly
i just printed out the pattern and figured out that the scan of the 5/6 piece was too big and the scan of the 3/6 piece was too small!

@@astoldbybrittany4342 Yeah, i printed the 3/6 piece at 110% and the 5/6 piece at 87% and it worked pretty well!
Hello. I think you did a great job with your corset. I have a quick question about the cat story. Did you say that it was your parents’ cat and they lost it at a rest stop while on a road trip? Or was it a random cat your parents saw at a rest stop while on their road trip?

Thank you so much Marjorie! Regarding the cat: the first one. It was my parents and it got out of the car during their road trip
I don’t think that pattern would work for me, I’m a DD!
So many questions… you said the cat was your parents cat? Why didn’t they take him back? Why didn’t you just call him his name that they gave him? (Maybe I missed something… it’s first thing in the morning and I haven’t had my coffee yet. 🤣)
