update your Ableton

At the 5 minute area, you begin playing drums on the pads along with the tracks. My Launchkey has no output but controls everything else.

Can you use this keyboard in arrangement view?

Yes, that's right. Launchkey will control instruments and devices when working in both views. The Ableton Team have also added the ability for the Record Button to toggle the Arrangement Record Button when in Arrangement View. This is possible when working with Ableton Live 11. It was actually added to Ableton Live 10 beta some time ago - www.ableton.com/en/release-notes/live-10-beta

I am having an issue with using the drum pads in the section going over user drums. I can use the keys and the pads light up when doing so, but when I try to use the pads nothing happens. The pads work with everything else except that. Any idea why that would be?

@@arya_s782 Yes, you need to press the 'minus' button where it says Octave (-). Then press the drums. He says so around 4.35

So I can't choose my pad colors in drum mode?

The Drum mode on Pads replaces the Drum mode of Standalone (MIDI) mode, providing a capability to the DAW to control its colours. Check out starting p13 in the Programmer's Reference Manual: bit.ly/31jOOaJ

Have an issue with my device not syncing up to the software, can't follow along with any of the steps because I can't go into session mode.

Are only the Drums missing? Have you ensured that the Drum track isn't muted?

@@NovationHelp only certain drum sounds are audible. The drum sound on the first pad is not working, while on pad 2,3,4 etc. they are working. Of the 16 pads only 8 play drum sounds, the other 8 all have the same sound, a horrible sounding knock or so.

@@NovationHelp something else, the keyboard has touch control, but - using the grand piano sound - it doesn’t matter how soft/hard i touch the keys, no difference in how the note sounds, not a soft or powerful note, the exact same sound. What am i doing wrong?

How do you open the .als file? When I try it asks me "What do you want to open this with?" Edit: I am on windows btw

You will need to open the .als file with Ableton Live or Ableton Live Lite. From there, you should find that you can follow the instructions provided in this video. If you don't currently have Ableton Live or Ableton Live Lite installed on your computer, but you have registered a Novation product, you can access your activation code and instructions on how to redeem it, in the 'My Software' section of your Novation account - customer.focusritegroup.com/en/software/ableton-live-lite

@@NovationHelp Thanks but i actually found the solution. but im glad you responded within a day, it would usally take a few days before i'd get a response!

My mini mk3 has a sunken key after a week. The music matter shop said they won’t replace and to contact novation as apparently they deal with broken hardware directly????? novation won’t answer their tick system. So I’m left with a device that’s not working properly. Not happy at all

Everything appears to be present and correct. Are you referring to the Drum Rack and Simpler instrument that are found in the 'User Drums' and 'User Melody' tracks? These tracks might be missing Clips but you should find that you can add your own, as shown here.

"Media files are missing". Also, my download didn't require an extraction???

A lot of times my launchkey doesn’t make sound through out the tutorial. When you had us play with drums while playign the track I couldn’t hear the tracks I could only hear my selected drums as i fidget idk..

Then sometimes I hit shift drum entire pad turns white instead of red and makes no noise

Sorry to hear that you encountered problems. It sounds like Launchkey might not be correctly configured within Ableton Live. The Launchkey [Mk3] Scale Mode can be used to set the entire keyboard, or the pads in instrument mode, to only play notes in a scale that you select. In this video, we identified that the track was in F Minor so we set the Launchkey [Mk3] Scale Mode to F Minor and that let us add a complementing melody with ease. Sorry but I don't understand any of these videos. There's that one video called "Making Music" for the MK2 by NovationHelp that's pretty straight forward. All these MK3 tutorials are insanely confusing tho. You gotta explain all of this to me like I'm 5.
