I’ve had this keyboard for a few months. I’m glad you made this video. Before purchasing I struggled finding videos for this specific keyboard. I kept deciding if I wanted the smaller one but I’m glad I kept this one. Thanks

I use every function possible on this midicon to steer Logic Pro. It’s a great tool, although the pots sometimes tend to react slow (or not) while playing the keys.

Nice video! Do you know if the controller would send the chords (in chords mode) as chords to the DAW or as one note? I am curious about this because we actually press one key and hear multiple notes but I doubt that one key can send to the DAW all the notes that we hear...could you please clarify this for me? Thank you!

  • @WillHatton

It would record/show the whole chord (in the piano roll you would be able to see all the individual notes of that chord, not just the note you pressed on the Novation Keyboard!)

Hey Will, I just wanted to say that compared to most other people giving pointers on the LKMK3, you do the best job. I am a guitarist, but I play keyboards to a degree, but they are necessary for recording. I bought a LK49 the other day and I am just getting familiar with it, but I am using it with StudioOne 5, so it's a little more trouble to setup and there are a few issues at times, especially if I use some of the voicings in the plugin, Presence. Volume on keyboards seems to be a problem, but this could be on the StudioOne side of things. I use some of the Addictive Keys and they sound great. Thanks for explaining some of the uses, pots, buttons, etc..............it will help a lot.

nice man. I saw you upgraded to the bigger version. Did you want the faders or did you have the feeling that you need more keys? I thinking about buying the shortest version but I'm afraid that'll miss a few extra keys. But it would fit perect on my desk...

Why are you using scale in ableton . I thought if you set the scale on the midi controller you could the play your fixed chords on the keyboard and it would nudge notes yo fit the scale ?

could you route it to send the chords directly to the DAW or you are constrained to the MASCHINE software that comes with it? I am trying to figure what's best for me, M32 or this launch key..the 5 pin midi out seems to be a bonus..

@@AltaMihartescu it works as Komplete Kontrol as a plugin in any daw. I never use my maschine software anymore. Easy as using any pluign you can also use it to browse and load all native instruments and NKS. also if keys arent youre instrument look up scaler 2 plugin
