This is the value of craftsmanship, unlike FAST fashion of today.

It fascinates me how similar wood working and shoe making are. Chisels, knives, hammers, nails, stain, sanding, etc. Many same techniques such as making oversized pieces just to trim down perfectly. Glueing layers together to form the perfect shape. Then applying the perfect finish. Pure art, sir. Beautiful.

What would you consider a challenge to improve your skill? What motivates and inspires you?

As I sit here drinking a few beers, I can't think of anything more peaceful to watch as I am contemplating life. I own a few handmade shoes and over the last few months, I have a newfound respect for the craftsmanship that goes into them. Gotta pay my shoemaker a visit when I'm in town!

In the seventies he was called by a great Italian designer to teach his workers how to make leather and handmade shoes. @@tuthanhduong4192 Thank you for your comment. The leather material is 1.2-1.4 mm thick and is skived to the appropriate thickness on each parts for thinner and dressy looks.
