I have been a leather smith since 1970. In all those years I have developed many of the techniques that this craftsman has developed and a good many I have not. For such a young man to be such an amazing shoe maker at this age is an amazing feet. His skiving abilities not to mention his abilities to keep so many tools as sharp as razors is wonderous. He should be so very proud to have developed to this point at this young age. I have watched this video almost twice and will watch it many more times an continue to learn from this fine craftsman. Congratulations Siroeno on an amazing job well done and I hope to see more of your work in the future. You are an inspiration to leatherworkers of all types. Thank you, Frank Yantosca t/a Red Oak Leathers

What's really terrifying is that, at one point, this is basically how ALL shoes were made. Maybe with (a lot) less attention to detail and finish in most cases... but still... As a leatherworker... I'm mostly impressed by how perfectly sharp all his tools are. Definitely a proper craftsperson who cares.

My grandfather made cowboy boots in Texas, the deer hunting capital of the world. People would come to hunt, would come into his shop and ask him to make them boots. He made them and shipped them all over the world. He past when I was 8 yrs old so I never learned to make them only repair them. Great skill and patience comes from making a pair of boots or shoes. I had to watch the whole video, thank you for making it.

I bet it wouldn't be too long to figure it out if you just start trying to figure it out or read up on it and then have a go at it.. I bet you will surprise yourself with what your subconscious picked up from your time with him
