@@qasw287 artist and artisan are connected, basically to be Artisan you are an artist, the difference is in the type of arts, in artisan you make stuff by hand and each piece is can be same but different, it's handmade they can be similar but not exact to the millimeter, a cabinet maker is an artisan, A sculptor or carver is an artisan too, wood crafter artisan, shoe making is artisan, music no, drawing no, as i said the art of making things by hand, well painting you use hand but you paint there's a definition, and the art, it's subjective, one can make a furniture colorful, with drawing or carvings, and one can make same furniture but simple plain with the sole purpose of sit on it, that would be a carpenter but still an artisan, basically art is giving by each subjectivity point of view.

there is something at once satisfying and fascinating about seeing a skilled craftsman completely absorbed in their work. The entire process was as beautiful as the result.

As a leather worker I thought I had some talent since I'm self taught and make some pretty good holsters,wallets,belts etc. Then I watch this guy and like blown away. The way this guy just skives and uses that skiving knife is next level. I mean it was so even and paper thin. Very nice. I hope you throw on a nice price tag. That burnish he got,wow.

Unbelievable craftsmanship! Steady hands and the shoes are basically pieces of art.

this really makes me appreciate the effort people had to go to throughout history to make things. the artistry is incredible. it's a real labor of love all the way through. I imagine this is the kind of thing one has to take a lot of pride in and care very deeply about to be able to do it every day. just so impressive.

I used to work for a custom boot maker here in north central Texas by the name of Eddie Kimmel. We made boots for a lot of country and western singers. The young man making those shoes is extremely talented. It is a pleasure to watch

The stain on this leather was absolutely immaculate. The craftsmanship was, as always, otherworldly.

I only know that I can't hope to afford shoes made to this standard. Most shoes, even handmade shoes, aren't made with this level of attention to detail and overwhelming craftsmanship.

This is the pinnacle. I don’t think you can go beyond this level. Bravo. Truly amazing work this man can do!

The pride he takes in his work is priceless. Some people take short cuts with Manual l or automatic machines. I love his work

These are one of the nicest pair of anything I’ve ever seen

I never saw, in my hole life, such a work of art of making shoes. This is, by far, one of the most beautiful men's shoes.

When I was a kid, I thought the stacked leather heels were made of wood and wondered why someone would wear something so uncomfortable. It's beautiful workmanship.

It's made of wood, plastic or leather depends situation, and the cost, in ladies shoes or smaller and and higher heel you would use wood or plastic for cheaper and cover it with leather, I'd you want to make it with leather is harder, you will need use really long nails that pierce the sole to the lowest heel you wouldn't want you client to fall and break his face i will say you only would make use leather in platform heel, like riding horse heel, cuban heel, making it leather ladies heel it can be deadly

I will never look at another pair of shoes the same way ever again. And when I see the price tag for custom made shoes, I will not laugh or make jokes. Absolutely a work of art. Wow!

I've watched a lot of making shoes video's but this one is the best by far, so much passion and precesion and attention to details, just absolutely a masterpiece . Japanese craftsman are the best period.

Who ever gets a pair of shoes from this craftsman they are very lucky. The skill and time are amazing. Ive watched a few of these when I need to relax and this man is hands down the best on youtube at making shoes.

What care and pride! This was oddly satisfying to watch. Beautiful loafers. I had a pair of Penny Loafers when I was in high school. I wore them with everything, they were so comfortable.

I would love to see a date/time stamp. I’d like to see how long certain processes take. For example, the rubber strap wrap, couple hours or days? But, man, this is beyond masterful.

To achieve such perfection at such a young age - you must have worked very hard as an apprentice, but you go beyond into true art. Breathtaking.

Yes they deserve to be priced above 1000 pounds. Im a second generation shoe maker and can make these for 300 dollars in India, only because of cheap labour here.

My hat is off to those who are professional leather tanners. Their job is such a difficult, messy and smelly job yet no craftsman would have great leather products to work with if there were no professional tanners.
