I love when people make studio ghibli inspired foods. It would be cool to see you do vegan, lowkey versions of them!
The canned tomatoes ✨🥫 : the big difference between what you have, and what is normally sold is that your canned tomatoes look like they’re canned tomatoes in a sauce tomato sauce 🥫 . Most whole tomatoes are floating in just like a tomato water. I’ve seen that before, but I think it tends to be more expensive, but that would be fun to try .
If you make the cookie men again, you can just dip the boots part in dark chocolate! :) Thanks for another fun video!
I like to crush whole tomatoes with my hand when they’re still cold. It’s like crushed strawberries vs. sliced, they just taste 100% better. Plus the savage experience of hand crushing a tomato is super cathartic. Also super recommend a silpat (or knock off) silicone baking mat. Less wasteful sub for parchment paper that works great and you can put them through the dishwasher
Italian here 🇮🇹🍝 San Marzano tomatoes are the best tomatoes for sauce You get a more rustic sauce when you break up the tomatoes with your hands in a separate bowl. The cento brand is always a safe bet, but there is a more affordable smaller can of San Marzano whole tomatoes at TJs. If you also like a little spice 🔥 make your sauce into an Arrabiata by adding the Calabrian chilies Italian bomba from TJs as well. I also add in nooch for the parm rind I no longer put in haha 🌱
Fun fact! My dad got really into cowboy coffee, it's just coffee made with boiling water (not only does this overbrew the grounds, making the resultant coffee disgustingly bitter, it also burns off a bunch of the caffeine) and then not filtered. When you dump it out of the pot, you're hoping that the grounds are enough denser than water that, when you pour it out of the pot into your cup, most of them stay in the pot. (They don't.) It's terrible. It's literally so atrocious. Cowboy coffee is for when you have no other choice and I'm so glad you made butterscotch sauce instead.

lebanese coffee is also made with boiling water and super finely ground coffee, its not filtered but the grounds dissolve and its actually really good!

That cooking looks so good Emily. I like it when people make food from animated shows, especially recently with Fiona and cake. I fell in love with that show lately, and watching you makes those foods makes me want to make it too. The spaghetti "n" meatballs, and the red velvet deserts looks soo good and they look like they came out delicious.
Adventure time is my favorite show and I absolutely loooooved Fiona and cake, so this is such a fun idea! Love to see some vegan food inspired by it!!!
You can make cabbage more tummy friendly if you freeze it before using it in your soup/dish! Also, idk which kind of cabbage you used and what is available where you live, but there are some kinds that are more tummy friendly than others. And you can actually "train" your stomach to digest it better by eating small amounts on a regular basis. :)
This was so fun! No shows come to mind, but I think it would be fun to watch you bake like holiday/december/winter/Christmas cookies and decorate them
Those canned tomatoes look exactly like the ones Claire Saffitz used when she was on the Bon Appetite test kitchen and said that she will never use any other ones!

Those are the best brand of tomatoes, I only make my pasta with those - whole too!! I let mine simmer for a bit and usually you don’t even have to cut them, they’re crushable once warm & it’s fun to take out the days aggressions on tomatoes imo lol.

wonderful video!! I have had the same problem with beans and peas (even some harder vegetables) not cooking despite being simmered for a long time and it may have something to do with the acidity. especially tomatoey based soups, the dang things never cook. I dont know if soaking overnight would help but cooking them separately in just water is how i usually handle it and they still soak up lots of the good soup flavours when added in closer to the end. hope it helps 🩷

I would try activating the yeast prior to mixing all the ingredients together! It should help the bread rise. I love the banana diaries bread recipes.

Nice video :) Bobs Burgers would be really cool, it is my favourite show! I'm sure there are many foods that you can try to make vegan.
You should be able to use that baking dish for bread without lining it, i just rub some vegan margarine all around the sides/bottom. And if you have the time, don't cut the bread until it's cooled for at least 20 minutes, the steam while it's cooling should make it a little less dense

San Marzano tomatoes are amazing. They are the only canned tomatoes I use. Also… I saw that you added some diced tomatoes to your stew. The tomatoes will inhibit your beans from cooking fully. If you cook beans with tomatoes, you have to cook the beans for an extra long time.

I used to have to use an entire tiny bottle of liquid red food coloring to color a red velvet cake properly (a thick two layer cake). So it definitely wasn't you or the coloring I think! Might've needed a different kind or more

The thing is, with pickles, they are not regular cucumbers. They are smaller and they are crunchier. idk if you liked the pickles that you made from a regular one but when you have the pickle kind you do them whole and it's the best.

Cento tomatoes are the superior canned tomatoes! Any canned tomatoes that are San Marzano tomatoes (must be from Italy) make the sauces!
If your soup pot still has that stain on the bottom and you want to get rid of it, Barkeeper's Friend is amazing! Wear gloves, though, it can be a little harsh on skin. I think you were too hard on yourself about the cupcakes and the pastry menschen! They were adorable.

I make split pea soup all the time it's one of my favorite vegetable soups! I usually cook the split peas down until the entire soup becomes very thick and green, which makes it look peculiar, but if you season it right it's delicious. I'm not vegan, so I usually use worcestershire sauce (i wanna try using fish sauce one day as well), but I bet mushroom stalk would make it taste so good! along with a shit ton of garlic lol. love your videos as always!
